What were some of the highlights from the Saturday competition at the MBCA Camp? We give your our thoughts NOW

[player_tooltip player_id='2126128' first='Isaiah' last='Asuma'] has a really good Saturday. I thought his effort turned up and with that came rebounding, attacking the cup to finish, assists, and a defensive toughness. Asuma is a very good athlete and his ability to see lanes develop and attack those lanes at the rim time is something that really stood out. So good in transition as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412724' first='Dre' last='Collins']. This is on repeat but Dre deserves it to be said: his physical strength, explosive bounce and agility allow him to do things going at the cup that other players physically can't stop. Collins opened a ton of D2 eyes yesterday and don't be surprised if some of the schools follow through with interest.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352576' first='Moussa' last='Dukuly'] was one of the most athletic players I saw at MBCA Camp and at NHR State. His burst with the dribble, his quickness with the ball, and his flying up the court are just different than other guards. I can't stop thinking that he has to be a menace on the football field as well as he is so quick with each step. Had a 16 point game on six of eight shooting in the last game I saw him play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2824353' first='Tate' last='Goergen'] is going to catch people by surprise someday in some way and I want to say right now, I told you so. This young man just won TWO state track and field championships this month and then he showed up at MBCA with that new hair color and played very well at both guard spots. I have said this before and I will say it again, he is a Class A version of Talan Witt when it comes to his speed, agility and bounce plus skill.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126466' first='Kobby' last='Sambrew'] is a guy that was up for Camp MVP for me. Sambrew is a 6'6 forward that has strength and agility. Many guys in his spot will get too focused on showing off their dribble separation or their jumper and we have seen Kobby do that, but what he has done is shown everybody that is in this state he will out-work you. He will defend harder, run the floor harder, rebounder harder, finish physically in the paint, and Sambrew is showing schools he will do that for them and they are seeing that and respecting it in a big way. Plus he can keep working on the perimeter touch and dribble separation to success, and mix it with the constant effort.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126458' first='Luke' last='Schroeder'] was one of the elite players of the weekend. There were about 5-6 guys with several NSIC offers playing in front of a ton of lows and mids and the one that really, really took his game to another level was Luke. We've all talked about his special shooting, we know that, but to hit six threes in a game with other top players in the state, that was big. And the pop to the rim in transition opened eyes. Love the confidence Luke plays with.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126113' first='AJ' last='Taban'] is a very interesting player and while I really don't have my finger on what that future after high school will be for him, he was out here like the local Draymond Green once again. Taban was handling the ball and making decisions, he was vocal, he was strong in the paint rebounding and defending, and he scored in the paint plus hit a jumper or two. Taban had a 21 point game on 9 of 15 shooting plus five boards and then I moved over and saw him play a similar role in the other game (I didn't stat that one).

[player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] might have played one of his best games ever on Sunday when he had 24 points on 7 of 12 shooting including multiple threes, five rebounds and six assists. It was a game where Kolby pretty much took the ball and the rest of the team followed him to a win. Shot it well, moved it well, and was very active all over the court.
