Under the Radar Prospects to Watch at Regionals

Down to 64 teams left in the IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament. The stars stepped up and did what they were supposed to do to lead their team to a sectional championship, but teams don't win without their under the radar guys. This lists highlights some of the top under the radar underclassmen across state that will be impactful for their team in the Regional Round:    The junior point guard for the 24-1 Westview Warriors has a complete offensive game that showcases balance. He does a good job of staying in attack mode looking for his shot while making the right play and getting his teammates involved. He shoots it well from the perimeter while also being a threat getting in the lane either in isolation of operating out of a ball screen. Tall task in Regional against a quick and athletic Gary 21st Century team, but Schlabach will step up to the challenge.     The physical junior forward out of Cathedral has gotten better and better every game I've seen him play. He's an athletic rim running big that plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor and impacts the game without needing to score. He's a versatile defender that is able to contain smaller players on the perimeter while being a formidable rim protector and rebounder. His physicality and athleticism will be a key part of the Cathedral Fighting Irish advancing in the tournament.     Sharing the backcourt with Huntington Commit [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'] has its advantages to say the least. The confident junior point guard plays with a maturity beyond his years. He's a high IQ guard that makes open threes and has the ability to get in the lane and create for others while being a crafty finisher around the basket.     A versatile high motor wing that plays the game the right way. He's an explosive left hand driver that plays with balance and physicality. He's comfortable playing on the perimeter with or without the ball in his hands. He's a high level rebounder on both ends of the floor. He guards multiple positions and plays with great energy.     Steady true point guard that knows his role on his team and plays it to perfection. He's an excellent ball mover. The ball never sticks in his hands. He's a good decision maker with good court vision. He does a good job controlling the tempo on when to run and when to set up offense. Off the ball he's a knockdown shooter with deep range. Defensively he's a menace on the ball that pressures full court and does a good job sliding his feet staying out of foul trouble. He plays with active hands and seems to always be in the right place on defensive rotations to come up with a long rebound or a steal.     The mid-season transfer has stepped into a role off the bench for the Bloomfield Cardinals and has adjusted nicely. He's a combo guard that's wired to score, but has shown the ability to initiate offense. Off the ball, he's an exceptional shooter that does a really good job reading screens and getting himself open. He's crafty in the lane and shoots with a soft touch. He's a high IQ player that doesn't force the issue.     Mr. Reliable for the Barr-Reeve Vikings is Sophomore Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3148411' first='Jaylon' last='Graber']. He's a steady guard that's comfortable playing on or off the ball. He does everything well on the floor. He's a 42% 3-point shooter, he's a physical driver that plays on balance and plays through contact getting to the basket. He's an exceptional rebounder for his size and position, and he leads the team in assists. He's a stat sheet stuffer that the sky is the limit for what he can do with his Barr-Reeve teammates in the state tournament.     The long and athletic junior forward is just another intriguing college prospect in line for the Silver Creek Dragons. A big time rim protector and anchor of the defense that runs the floor and is arguably the best lob threat in the state of Indiana. He's a good PnR partner that sets good screens and it doesn't matter how high you throw the lob, Lucas will go up and get it. Not much perimeter game but has shown that he is willing to take the open corner 3.     A do-everything forward for the 21-5 Northview Knights, [player_tooltip player_id='2797123' first='Quinn' last='Lewis'] is capable of taking over games with his athleticism. Physical frame that guards multiple positions on the defensive end while also being comfortable playing inside-out on the offensive end. Capable shooter from the outside, thrives as a physical driver and off ball cutter that finishes plays through contact.     Steady combo guard that's comfortable playing on or off the ball. Smooth, compact stroke from three that shoots it with good range. Has really nice court vision that goes with his ability to get to his spot on the floor. He's a high IQ guard that understands when to score and when to facilitate. He's an aggressive defender that plays the passing lanes well. He's a tempo setter that wants to play at a fast pace and looks to turn defense into offense in a hurry.     The smooth sophomore guard has been on a heater throughout the sectional. He's electric with the ball in his hands. He's capable of scoring all over the floor. Nice shooter from deep with good range and quick trigger. Really good at getting in the lane and finishing with a floater. Does a good job not penetrating too deep and plays with his head up finding open teammates.
