Expert Analysis
Logan Greenwell | Prep Hoops Scout
The mid-season transfer has stepped into a role off the bench for the Bloomfield Cardinals and has adjusted nicely. He’s a combo guard that’s wired to score, but has shown the ability to initiate offense. Off the ball, he’s an exceptional shooter that does a really good job reading screens and getting himself open. He’s crafty in the lane and shoots with a soft touch. He’s a high IQ player that doesn’t force the issue.

The Sophomore sharpshooter made his way over to Bloomfield from Linton mid year and gives the Cardinals another scoring punch. He’s a crafty scorer that shoots the cover off the ball with deep range and quick release. He continues to get better off the bounce and as a facilitator, but is wired to score in a variety of different ways. Really knows how to read the defense coming off screens to get himself open.

is a baller. Confident scoring guard that can play both guard spots. Shoots it well from all over the floor. Quick trigger with smooth release. When he gets in the lane he plays off two feet well and has the ability to rise up over defenders. Expect him to use this fall league to solidify himself as a player to watch in the area this upcoming season.

Combo guard that knows how to score in different situations. Really good cutter off the ball. Knows where to cut and times it perfectly for a score. Comfortable catching it in a post up at the free throw line and facing up. Quick first step allows him to beat his man off the dribble and finishes at the basket through contact. Sniper off the catch. He’s an on balance shooter with a smooth release with the ability to shoot it from deep. Capable of playing on the ball. He plays at his own pace and doesn’t get sped up. Unselfish as a distributor. He balances scoring and facilitating. Defensively he’s a gritty defender that plays with high energy.

It seems like Linton High School is one of the best at consistently turning out talented multi-sport athletes. Rose excels both on the baseball diamond and basketball hardwood. We had the opportunity to catch a couple of glimpses of him with the Indiana Jammers, but for the most part the Sophomore ID Camp will offer our first real evaluation of this athletic 6’1″ guard.

Rose is a 6’0″ guard that represented the Linton-Stockton Miners at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. One word that really stands out to me about watching Rose was toughness. He was tough at pretty much anything he did on the floor. Tough defender, willing to rebound, and made some tough, contested jumpers as well. Southern Indiana kids always have a sense of toughness to them on the floor, and Rose has that for sure.
