Prep Hoops Indiana Regional Preview – Class 2A South

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last week there were 404 teams across four classes that began their journey to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Now, a week later, only 64 Sectional champions are still alive. That group will be cut in half once again following Saturday's Regional round. We will spend this week here at Prep Hoops Indiana previewing the upcoming Regional games. Other than Parke Heritage needing overtime to beat Greencastle, both teams had dominant performances on their way to winning Sectionals, which led to them meeting in the Martinsville Regional. For Parke Heritage, you immediately look at the big three of Schelsky, Pickel, and Crum as the main factors in this matchup. For Centerville, they have an experienced counter in both Hollendonner and Keiser who can compete with that Wolves trio. In many ways, both of these teams have dominated the Class 2A scene and have been tested enough to be called legitimate contenders moving forward. Whoever wins this one may end up being the odds-on favorite to make it out of the south.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Under-the-Radar Regional</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The most interesting matchup, other than Parke Heritage vs. Centerville, is easily the Seymour Regional between Paoli and Linton-Stockton. Paoli will enter Regional Saturday as the only undefeated team in Class 2A but will face its biggest test of the season by far in Linton-Stockton. Looking back at the Sectional paths these two teams took, Paoli cruised through its Sectional, while Linton-Stockton had to grind things out in the always-tough Sectional 47. Paoli remaining undefeated is without question one of the most impressive accomplishments of the season, but you could argue that Linton-Stockton feels like the more battle-tested team. The Miners also have two legitimate stars in Oliver and Daily who are capable of carrying them deep into the Class 2A State Tournament. If Paoli can find a way to beat Linton-Stockton, that could be the type of win that elevates them to an even higher level of confidence heading deeper into the tournament.
