Minnesota State Tournament: Thursday Underclassmen Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Class A State Tournament got going today and the underclassmen were starring roles! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2386616' first='Gavin' last='Bauer'] of JWP (Soph).&nbsp; Yes we are talking Gavin again as he is making his push for First Team All State Sophomore and First Team All State Class A.&nbsp; Today he led his team to a win over Cherry with 32 points and 14 rebounds on 9 of 20 field goal shooting and 12 of 14 foul shooting.&nbsp; Throw in three blocks and three assists and it was a full day.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2841075' first='Ben' last='Gullingsrud'] of Red Lake County (Soph).&nbsp; Ben was one of four RLC players in double figures as he scored 17 points in the win.&nbsp; Ben made 6 of 11 shot attempts with four threes made. Also had three assists and three boards.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2841981' first='Jed' last='Keenan'] of Chaska (Fr). There is no freshman in the state that has had the impact on winning at a high level like Jed has.&nbsp; He's a double figure scorer on a state championship game team.&nbsp; And his two clutch threes against Tartan tonight put the Titans away down the stretch.&nbsp; Jed had 17 points highlighted by five threes and even more, he's 6'6 with a shooting touch and that is exactly the type of player that colleges are taking out of high school right now.&nbsp; Long way to go but Keenan looks to be the guy that has moved out in front of his class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2386780' first='Brekken' last='Koenigs'] of Southland (Fr).&nbsp; Another freshman that could be up for frosh of the year?&nbsp; Brekken, a top scorer for a Southland team that has lost just two games.&nbsp; Today Brekken had 17 points highlighted by five threes made playing all 36 minutes.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2840083' first='Brodie' last='Metzger'] of Hills-Beaver Creek (Soph).&nbsp; HBC won a battle with Southland and Brodie had a game high 24 points for his team.&nbsp; Brodke knocked three threes and five foul shots on his way to an 8 of 15 shooting game.&nbsp; Also had three rebounds and three assists. HBC moves on with a one score win over Southland 72-69.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2417228' first='Liam' last='Oakland'] of Northfield (Soph).
