Have had the chance to watch Gundrum a bunch over the last few seasons and his performance for Marquette High against Homestead was the best I've ever seen out of him. The skilled and strong combination guard scored 22 points for the Hilltoppers and seemed to hit a big shot every time Homestead made a strong push to overtake the Hilltoppers. Gundrum finished with four made three-point shots and swished two big foul shots down the stretch to help Marquette High record a big win.

It's hard to understand how Jones can have just one scholarship offer to date -- a NCAA Division II offer from St. Cloud State. His athleticism, ability to get to the basket and improved long-distance shooting should lead to additional offers for the 6-foot-3 wing prospect. Jones had 25 points and a couple of nasty dunks for Germantown in its win over Sheboygan North. He also drilled a three-point attempt and got to the foul line, where he made four-of-five attempts. One of the state's best uncommitted seniors, Jones is looking to have a big second half of his season to help the Warhawks become a player in the rugged Greater Metro Conference.

Rogers Jr. had a somewhat quiet night until late, when he put in some big baskets to keep the outcome of the Marquette vs. Homestead contest in doubt until the final horn sounded. He finished with 16 points in the 67-60 loss and made three triples that barely touched the rim. He makes difficult shots and can handle the ball with the best guards in the state. Rogers Jr. owns NCAA Division I offers from La Salle and Milwaukee.

Mr. Smooth was particularly smooth for Whitefish Bay in its impressive triumph over Beaver Dam. The lanky junior wing tossed in 27 points and looked very good in doing so. He snapped the nets for four three-point baskets, had two dunks and made three-of-four foul shots for the Blue Dukes. Julien needs to get stronger and add weight, but his skill set, athleticism, unselfishness and overall feel for the game are all extremely impressive and the reason he is ranked No. 11 by Prep Hoops Wisconsin in the state's loaded 2027 class.

Earlier in the week, Kopidlansky had a game to forget when West Bend West lost a Glacier Trails game to Kettle Moraine Lutheran. The talented guard missed all nine of his field-goal attempts and scored just two points in a 68-57 road loss. He made up for that showing big time on Saturday, scoring 30 points, making five three-point shots and leading the Spartans to a win over West Allis Hale. The 5-foot-10 point guard scored well in the first half, helping West to a 30-20 lead at intermission. And then he drilled four straight foul shots late in the game to help hold off a West Allis Hale comeback attempt.
