One of the top under-the-radar players in the in-state 2026 class comes from South Bend Adams. [player_tooltip player_id='1561002' first='Jarvis' last='Tolbert Jr'] has had a strong senior season for the Eagles averaging a team-high 25.0 points and 6.7 rebounds for them. olbert handles the ball well for his size and plays with a relentless attacking style when driving to the rim. Watch him this week when Adams faces LaLumiere Regional and Penn.

A junior guard that seems to be rising up the ranks in the in-state 2027 class is LaPorte's [player_tooltip player_id='2140368' first='Griffin' last='Ott-Large']. when it comes to production, Ott-Large makes a case to be in that tier with him averaging 19.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.7 assists a game for the Slicers. He has a strong frame that he loves to use to attack the lane and he will either bully his way to the basket or hit a pull-up jumper over the defense. Big week for him and you can watch him in action vs Michigan City, Crown Point, and Concord.

The top front court prospect in the in-state 2028 class is without question right now Chesterton center [player_tooltip player_id='2878216' first='Bradley' last='Basila']. When it comes to raw, athletic potential, Basila has all that with his strong frame, 6'8 height, and ability to play off the bounce at an elite level. He is true center right now and plays strictly around the rim and with his skill, his potential is limitless. Watch Chesterton this when they face Crown Point and Lake Central.

3 Teams

Indianapolis Roncalli (3A) – A team that is starting to make themselves a factor in the Class 3A race is the Indianapolis Roncalli Royal. While they may have lost 3 of their last 5 games, they have really good wins over teams like Jeffersonville, Park Tudor, and New Palestine. For the Royals, it all starts in the middle with their big man [player_tooltip player_id='2046166' first='Joe' last='Taylor'] but they also have [player_tooltip player_id='2850399' first='Luke' last='Feldman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1989375' first='Conner' last='Kesler'] who are also verging double figures on the year. This week, they will look to bounce back vs Center Grove and Greenwood.

Oak Hill (2A) – When it comes to Class 2A, I think you can make a strong case that Oak Hill is the current best team in that group. As of this writing, they are 12-0 on the year and have showed no signs of slowing down. The Golden Eagles have three players averaging double-figures for them with them being led by [player_tooltip player_id='2956681' first='Will' last='Tonagel'], [player_tooltip player_id='2266894' first='Jace' last='Tonagel'], and RJ Shugart. They will look to improve to 14-0 this week when they face Madison-Grant and Lapel.

Monroe Central (1A) – A team that is starting to make themselves a contender in Class 1A are the Monroe Central Golden Bears. The Golden Bears are currently 11-3 and even having win 3 of their last 4 games. For Monroe Central, their top guy right now is sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2553970' first='Luke' last='Morgan'] but seniors Ta'Shaun Beatty and Jackson Konkle have been very good for them this season as well. This week, the Golden Bears have two road games at Blue River Valley and New Castle.

3 Matchups

Corydon Central (3A) at Paoli (2A) - Jan. 30th, 7:30

When looking at the slate of game this week, you can honestly make a casserole as this being one of the best ones in the southern Indiana region. The Paoli Rams will be looking to remain undefeated when they host a very good Corydon Central team. The key for Paoli will be how they handle Corydon junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140365' first='Grant' last='Lindemann'] but they do have an experienced group to combat that. When you look at who Paoli has faced this season, Corydon is the toughest challenge yet. The home court advantage is a factor, but I think Corydon gives Paoli their first loss.

Fishers (4A) at Carmel (4A) - Jan. 31st, 7:30

Both Fishers and Carmel get featured a lot in this series, but this game is just two big of a matchup to not include it as one of the games to watch this week. If the drawing lines up correctly, there is a chance that this is the Sectional 8 Championship game comes march. Both of these teams match up pretty well with one another and one of the top matchups will be [player_tooltip player_id='2140345' first='Cooper' last='Zachary']/[player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='2140341' first='Cash' last='Daniels']/[player_tooltip player_id='1560952' first='Evan' last='Harrell']. This game will likely come down to which of supporting cast like a Ethan Hillsman or a [player_tooltip player_id='1561129' first='Julian' last='Vogt'] stepping up for either team. This is a tough game to call, but I think I may like Carmel to win this one.

Goshen (4A) at Penn (4A) - Jan. 31st, 7:30

Up in the northern part of the state is a sneaky good Class 4A game between Goshen and Penn. Both of these teams have combined for a 21-5 record with really good wins up this point in the season. The top matchup to watch in this game is Goshen's [player_tooltip player_id='2837828' first='Levi' last='Sawatzky'] and Penn's [player_tooltip player_id='2457404' first='Caleb' last='Coolman'], two very high scoring guards. I expect a lot of points in this one with Penn just making a few more shots to get the home win.
