The box score numbers might not jump off of the page, but Tonagel made a major impact in both games on Saturday for Grand Park Premier
17u. The talented 5’10” playmaking point guard knocked in a couple of three-point shots in the first game of the day and then came up with some huge plays down the stretch in a win on Saturday evening. Not only does Tonagel shoot it well, but he is also an outstanding passer. A big reason why the GPP big men look so good on the rim run and on the roll is because of how good Tonagel is at throwing those passes.

Oak Hill is an incredibly impressive Class 2A team, especially for a rural, public school. They play as hard collectively as any team that we have seen all month long. Tonagel serves as the head of the snake and was outstanding scoring 26 points against the defending Class 4A State Champions Mt. Vernon (Fortville) on Friday night. He does such a great job of handling the ball, can shoot it from three-point range at a high-percentage, and is an outstanding playmaker for his teammates.

Oak Hill was dicing up Penn in the game that we watched at Super Hoops on Saturday and Tonagel, their rising senior point guard, was a big part of it. He shot it from three-point range, sliced his way through the defense for some tough finishes inside, and consistently hit the roll man for some nice assists. His court vision and passing ability is at as high of a level as any guard in Indiana’s Class of 2027. Paired with his rising sophomore brother in the backcourt, the Tonagel’s are going to be incredibly hard to stop at the Class 2A level.

Oak Hill spent some time at #1 in the Class 2A Polls this season and was consistently one of the top three. Their 25-2 record ended in the North Semi-State. Tonagel was the engine of their offense averaging 16.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game for the Golden Eagles.

Oak Hill’s incredibly impressive season continued with a dominant 73-30 win over Manchester. Tonagel, an Indiana Junior All-Star candidate, led the way with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.

It would be hard to find many, if any, better pure playmakers and passers in Indiana’s Class of 2027 than this Oak Hill High School point guard. Tonagel ran the show on Friday night scoring 11 points and dishing out 12 assists in a 73-50 win over Blackford. The Golden Eagles are now 16-1 on the season.

Oak Hill is a perfect 12-0 on the season and have moved into the #1 spot in our Prep Hoops Indiana Class 2A Top 10. Tonagel is tied with his brother for the scoring lead at 14.8 points per game while also averaging 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. His numbers, along with Oak Hill’s success, has made him a legitimate Indiana Junior All-Star candidate. We definitely will be catching a game in Converse before the end of the year.

Until Saturday it was fair to question “who have they played” when looking at Oak Hill’s undefeated season. However, the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 2A #3 Golden Eagles knocked off Zionsville 51-43 to answer any and all of those questions. Jace TonagelJaceTonagel
