[player_tooltip player_id='1560807' first='Isaac' last='Olmstead'] got hot early and the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] never looked back. We run down Tuesday's best on the eve of Christmas!

1AAA Totino-Grace at 1AAAA Wayzata

Prediction. COMPLEX. Team wise I picked the right squad, but I picked the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] by six when they won by 23 and had a 14 point halftime lead. This should scare Minnesota because after Wayzata beat CDH handily, and we have seen Hopkins struggle, and Maple Grove smashed DeLaSalle, the best hopes to give the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] a game were Maple Grove and Totino-Grace. TG beat Maple Grove and then Wayzata was in total control.

Now the opposition almost has to just sit and hope Wayzata gets bored, or gets too big of a head, or something like that because they look unstoppable. The multiple games with Maple Grove, Hopkins, EP, and maybe some others will still be tough but right now the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] look unbeatable. They have some Wisconsin challenges coming up after the holiday.

As for the player predictions, I really went out on the limb here. Nobody cares where I was right, they care where I was wrong and that was in the Olmstead/Hill spot. [player_tooltip player_id='1560807' first='Isaac' last='Olmstead'] scored a game high 27 points showcasing his range with seven threes made, and four of those came early in half one when the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] built their lead. [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'] had 23 with future head coach Niko Medved watching, [player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'] had 15.

1AA Goodhue at Zumbrota-Mazeppa

Prediction. CORRECT. Although it was not close. The number one ranked team in the state had a double figure half time lead and won 77-56. The depth of Goodhue was just too much. High scorers for each team ([player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2120492' first='Ethan' last='Miller']) had 19 points each but the second-third-fourth leading scorers for Goodhue had 18, 13, and 12 while the ZM next-ups had 11, 8 and 6. [player_tooltip player_id='2396393' first='Cody' last='Ryan'], [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140680' first='Owen' last='Roschen'] are just better than what their opponents have to give. And [player_tooltip player_id='2396393' first='Cody' last='Ryan'] is surely a sophomore name to commit to memory.

6AAAA East Ridge at Osseo

Prediction. WRONG. If you were ever to call me gutless, now is the time. We felt this one coming but didn't have the courage to pull the trigger on the upset. Instead of Raptors winning by three, it was the other bird (Oriole) that won by three. [player_tooltip player_id='2524650' first='Kwatamah' last='Silikpoh'] had his game of the year so far scoring 19 while [player_tooltip player_id='2126472' first='Owen' last='Counce'] had 15. [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] had 29 in defeat but Osseo did what Maple Grove couldn't (Crimson still won of course) and that was slow [player_tooltip player_id='2431593' first='Aidan' last='Galvin']'s makes down.

Sauk Rapids-Rice at Albany

Prediction. ALMOST PERFECT. I said Albany by eight, and they did, I just felt the need to put a score in their too and that was not quite right. But it was Albany by eight like we said. Albany got 15 points from [player_tooltip player_id='2527108' first='Jaxson' last='Austin'] and 14 from [player_tooltip player_id='2447860' first='Braeden' last='Justin'] in the victory

I Saw It On Twitter!

[player_tooltip player_id='2140590' first='Cody' last='Benson'] went for 28 points, five rebounds and six assists as Spectrum beat Foley 76-66.

[player_tooltip player_id='2397563' first='Thomas' last='Jordan'] makes his "Sophomore of December" case by scoring 21 in a win over Delano.

And how about that Mayo win over Mankato East. [player_tooltip player_id='2133222' first='Elliot' last='Myszkowski'] scored 22 and the [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] don't have [player_tooltip player_id='2381759' first='Reggie' last='Parker'] which makes the win even more impressive!

Upset of the Night

The upset of the night was Osseo beating East Ridge...

And if you had told me Blaine over Spring Lake Park before the season I would call that an upset but it doesn't appear to be one right now. [player_tooltip player_id='1874931' first='Shiloh' last='Ayitey'] continues to roll as he scored FORTY of his team's 57 points in the win. Yes FORTY of their 57. That is over 70 percent of his team's points. Shiloh hit 14 of 30 shots and all 12 of his foul shots.

I would also like to throw in that Moorhead is undefeated at 6-0 and looking tough. We knew they would be good but they can be hard to judge. Right now they are in their first of two North Dakota section runs in their schedule. They beat West Fargo 86-73 as it's a five game big school Fargo area run and so far the Spuds have won three of three. They have games with Alexandria, Osseo and DeLaSalle this year that will tell us a lot.
