We recently updated our class of 2026 rankings in Virginia, with a list of 214 players that include over 20 new names. With the addition of multiple new powerhouse programs and the ever evolving door of transfers in the high school scene, we take a look at part one of some of the new players in the rankings!

#11) [player_tooltip player_id='1956869' first='Kuol' last='Deng'] | 6'10” C | Oak Hill Academy

Deng is part of a new group at Oak Hill, coming from Savannah, GA and he's one of the most intriguing available prospects in the country with a chance to show his high upside on the EYSL Circuit. The 6'10” forward tracts very well moving forward as he's a fluid athlete who moves well and can get up and down the floor, he uses his length to finish above the rim and rebound, he shows good touch out to the three-point line, and he has huge upside defensively with his ability to move his feet and challenge shots as well.

#20) [player_tooltip player_id='1692243' first='Korie' last='Corbett'] | 6'4” SF | Oak Hill Academy

Corbett transfers to Oak Hill from South Carolina where he was one of the best players in the entire state, and he'll look to bring his top notch scoring ability to the Warriors on the EYSL Circuit this year. The 6'4” guard can flat out fill it up as he's able to play on the ball and create space to score the ball efficiently from all three levels, he can play off the ball where he makes good reads on screens and can make shots on the move, he is a good athlete with long arms to finish around the rim and defend well, and he has a good IQ as a playmaker as well.

#32) [player_tooltip player_id='3046574' first='Emmanuel' last='Kamara'] | 6'8” PF | Saint James Academy

Kamara transfers to Saint James Academy, who in their first year of existence will play on the EYSL Circuit as well, and throughout the fall he's shown a lot of upside and will be a big impact for them on their journey in their first year. The 6'8” big man is a load in the paint with strength to overpower defenders around the rim, he's quick off his feet making him a good rebounder and finisher, he has good touch with both hands, and he'll bring a lot of physicality to his team as well.

#35) Kaumari Lawson | 5'9” PG | Oak Hill Academy

Lawson is another new addition tot his Oak Hill team coming from Baltimore, and while he isn't the biggest guy on the court he's one of the biggest pests and will set the tone in whatever role he's in for this group. The 5'9” guard gets under ball handlers and can guard them the length of the floor making them uncomfortable, he's lightning quick with a great first step and blazing speed in transition, he can hit tough shots off the bounce from all three levels, and he is a very good playmaker with a high IQ as well.

#41) [player_tooltip player_id='2802204' first='Travis' last='Triplett'] | 6'9” C | Gillion Academy

Triplett is one of a number of players who transferred from Florida to Gillion Academy to play on the Grind Session in their second year of existence, and he's an intriguing prospect with some division one schools on him now. At 6'9” and a big frame he's an absolute load in the paint and clogs it defensively, he can clear out space to finish or rebound, he shows good touch around the rim, and it seems like he's just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward.

#44) [player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley'] | 6'0” PG | Bethel Academy

Totally is part of a brand new group for Bethel Academy, transferring there from St. John's in DC, and so far in the fall and the young season he's been absolutely electric for them and looks like he's poised for a big senior season. At 6'0” he's an athletic freak who has blazing speed in transition and can play above the rim when he gets downhill, he creates space off the bounce and can make tough shots from multiple levels, he is a good defender both on the ball and shooting passing lanes, and he can make others better with his playmaking ability too.

#45) [player_tooltip player_id='2899777' first='Kaloyan' last='Kolev'] | 6'6” CG | Virginia Episcopal

Kolev was a breakout player this summer on the HGSL Circuit when he wasn't playing in the FIBA U-18 with the Bulgarian National Team, and he's set to be one of the top guards in the state this year at VES. He has fantastic positional size and like many European players he's able to play on or off the ball and makes great decisions regardless, he is shifty off the bounce with a tight handle and the ability to change speeds, he's a bouncy finisher when he gets downhill, and he can stuff the stat sheet and impact the game across the board.

#53) [player_tooltip player_id='2620491' first='Diego' last='Joy'] | 6'0” PG | Saint James Academy

Joy transfers to Saint James after a big career in DC at Jackson-Reed, and as one of just two seniors they'll lean on him for his leadership, experience and the fact that he can flat out run the show at the lead guard position. The 6'0” point guard controls tempo and plays with great pace and change of speeds, he can get where he wants off the bounce and makes good decisions when breaking down the defense, he can score it in a variety of ways off the bounce, and he simply makes the right play consistently when he's on the floor.
