Toughest Sectional: Sectional 40 @ Eastbrook High School

The safe thing to say about the Class 2A North is that outside of Sectional 33 (Gary 21st Century's to lose), pretty much every field has balance and should be competitive at the end of the day. When looking for the "toughest" Sectional the one that is most intriguing is Sectional 40 at Eastbrook High School. There are two teams that are trendy because of the talent they have on them -- Blackford and Wapahani. Arguably the player with the highest upside resides in that Sectional in [player_tooltip player_id='2539991' first='Amarian' last='Leggett'] and Wapahani is a team you can never count out, especially when you have a senior duo like [player_tooltip player_id='1561131' first='Camden' last='Bell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2046168' first='Eli' last='Andrews']. You cannot sleep on the host school in Eastbrook or Madison-Grant either. So many possibilities with this field.

State Title Contenders

Gary 21st Century: There will simply not be a team other than Gary 21st Century that gets much legitimate buzz to come out of the Class 2A North. They return the most talent out of any team in this half of the state led by Indiana Junior All-Star and Missouri State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1561080' first='Terrence' last='Hayes'] Jr., who averaged 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 3.4 steals per game last season. Alongside Hayes is a great group consisting of [player_tooltip player_id='1561004' first='Ronald' last='Mosley'] Jr. and [player_tooltip player_id='1561084' first='Jacolby' last='Donaldson'] [player_tooltip player_id='2470647' first='Kayleb' last='Young'], Matrell Harbin, and more. Expect them to compete for a Class 2A State Championship.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers: There are a few teams in the Class 2A North that can at least give Gary 21st a challenge and one of those teams will be Bishop Luers. Luers will bring in Liberty Christian transfer junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2414946' first='Tamarje' last='English'] who averaged 10.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game as a sophomore. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2424067' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] is also back for them and will look to step into a big role for Luers in his second season, as well. Throw in those two with a senior group led by [player_tooltip player_id='2381412' first='Carmani' last='Davis'] and 6'8" La Lumiere transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2272229' first='Jonas' last='Muya'] and they are a team to watch out for this season.

Wapahani: As stated previously, Wapahani is a team you can never fully count out because paired with great coaching, there is always talent on the roster for the Raiders. Taylor University commit and senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561131' first='Camden' last='Bell'] is back for one last go around bringing back 18.0 points per game. Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2046168' first='Eli' last='Andrews'] is also back to continue his upward trend on the basketball floor.

Oak Hill: There are a couple of sneaky teams to keep an eye on for Class 2A North and one of those teams is Oak Hill. The Golden Eagles bring back their star junior in point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2266894' first='Jace' last='Tonagel']. The 5'11" point guard averaged 19.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game for Oak Hill High School while shooting an incredible 69-168 (41.1%) from three-point range. His production alone makes Oak Hill a team to watch, but this year he will team up with his incredibly talented freshman brother [player_tooltip player_id='2956681' first='Will' last='Tonagel'] who is one of the top Class of 2029 prospects in the state.

Westview: Another sneaky team to keep a close eye on for the upcoming season is the Westview Warriors, who are coming off a run that saw them reach the Regional round last season. For the Warriors, it all starts with senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2391343' first='Kaden' last='Grau'] and junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2622228' first='Austin' last='Schlabach'] who should both have monster seasons.
