Tamarje English is a problem on defense. He is a very good rebounder who can also make timely steals. Very high-impact player who can work through contact, drive to the basket and score layups in traffic. Really shined in the first game for his effort and tenacity, including on defense, where he blocked a three-pointer.

Versatile combo guard that thrives in transition getting downhill where he puts pressure on the defense with paint touches. Long and lanky guard that’s crafty with the ball in his hands. Quick first step in the half court playing on balance being able to finish with either hand around the basket. Jump shot is a work in progress, but he shoots it with confidence and doesn’t force it.

A transfer from Liberty Christian, English had his best game in a Bishop Luers uniform yet on Saturday night. The athletic 6’2″ junior guard had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals in the Knights’ 74-62 loss to Brebeuf Jesuit. English is definitely one to watch in the Class of 2027 in the Fort Wayne area.

After two excellent seasons at Liberty Christian High School which including leading the Lions to back-to-back Semi-State appearances, English is heading to Bishop Luers for his junior year. The athletic 6’2″ left-handed guard averaged 10.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game as a sophomore.

When looking at Class 1A players that could have made this list, I decided to go with 2 players out of Liberty Christian with the first being 6’2 shooting guard Tamarje English Tamarje English 6'2" | SG Fort Wayne Luers | 2027 State IN . English is one of the three electric sophomores for the Lions and will bring in over 10.0 ppg for them during Sectional week. English will showcase some high level athleticism and motor for the Lions. In Sectional 57 play, Liberty Christian starts with MTI Knowledge on Tuesday (3/4).

Part of a super talented group of sophomores at Liberty Christian, English poured in 33 points for the Lions in the Madison County Tournament championship game. However, Anderson got the best of Liberty Christian in the game 78-61.
