Lexington Catholic vs Simon Kenton:

Catholic ran away with a big win after a very competitive first half. Bray Bilton was a really impressive player for the Pioneers and scored several points. He also added a ton of steals on top of the zone for Simon Kenton. Lexington Catholic was impressive with their well rounded attack. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1567477' first='Hank' last='Woodall'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1558735' first='Max' last='Meagher'] were impressive with their all around play but also played well together in attacking the zone. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2429594' first='Everett' last='Stuart'] showed flashes of his immense potential and had a nice highlight with a dunk where he was well above the rim.

Ballard vs George Rogers Clark:

The most anticipated game of the day was a good one. Ballard and GRC competed at a high level the entire scrimmage but the Cardinals chemistry and the absence of [player_tooltip player_id='2529549' first='Baron' last='Clay'] loomed over the result of the contest. Cole Edelen made several deep shots but [player_tooltip player_id='2520123' first='Boogie' last='Cook'] didn't really make a big impact on the game as a whole. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2851845' first='Mason' last='Grivna'] made a huge impact on the defensive end for the Bruins. GRC had a balanced attack. [player_tooltip player_id='2541123' first='Ryder' last='Akins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2120028' first='Malachi' last='Ashford'] were both really good and [player_tooltip player_id='2122438' first='Montez' last='Gay'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2610096' first='Amari' last='Bartelson'] battled on the glass against a bigger front line. Jaymyln Johnson had a solid game as well. His defense on Edelen was really good and he made a couple of timely buckets. The Cardinals are deep and talented.

Fern Creek vs Scott County:

Fern Creek is in reloading mode but had a very competitive game against Scott County and took the Cardinals down to the wire. Jessiah Flippins was tough as nails with the ball in his hands and plays with a little edge to him. Transfer Rick Mata is very raw but shows potential as a rebounder. Scott County was led by Senior Phillip Grimes and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2360945' first='Bray' last='McNear']. There was a young looking guard who shot the ball well for SC but his name is not on the roster right now.

Walton Verona vs Letcher County Central:

This game was a good one and was pretty competitive from the very beginning. WV was led by Junior Wyatt Shearer. Wyatt is a big guard who played with the ball in his hands quite a bit. Shearer was effective with the ball and also made an impact on the defensive end and even chipped in some rebounding. LCC has several solid pieces and just never could get over the hump on Saturday. Terry Delaney had a good game but the overall depth was impressive while they battled all game long in a high scoring affair.
