Sunday, October 12th I attended John Millyard's annual Southern Arizona Showcase. It is a great way to see many prospects from Tucson in just one day at one gym. I probably watched 100+ players play two times each plus I watched the Top-20 Game.

Here was the all Tournament 5th Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2990392' first='Abdel' last='Adam'] Sabino

A freshmen point guard is a little undersized but he has a shifty handle and he can score it. He has deep three point range and he will hit shots off the catch. He will get downhill after a quick burst and he runs the floor for layups in transition. A youth movement is coming to Sabino and he will be behind it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990865' first='Santino' last='Almazan'] Pusch Ridge

A strong framed point guard can play off the ball with his skill and savvy. He will rattle in threes off the catch and create a little offense for himself and his teammates. Another quality player for the 3A defending champs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2950406' first='Alex' last='Beck'] Mica Mountain

A strong framed forward is getting more and more athletic. He throws it down easily way above the rim and springs up quickly to dunk it. He uses his college-like frame to get on the glass and score with offensive rebound put backs and he will hit the three off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990384' first='Isaac' last='Buchanan'] Empire

A decent sized scoring guard is a three point sniper. He will catch and shoot it from the stripe and he has one of those strokes that looks good every attempt. Has a good feel about him and knows when to make the extra pass or shoot it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2964898' first='Devin' last='Hunter'] Salpointe Catholic

An undersized forward who can play both spots up front. He will score with quick drives to the basket and he shows high effort to rebound and score with offensive rebound put backs. He has great length to play the passing lanes and the strength to hold his own inside versus bigger players.

[player_tooltip player_id='2506439' first='Marcus' last='Llamas'] Sahuaro

A quick on quick undersized scoring point guard has speed and plays from the neck up. He makes good reads with the ball and throws the lob pass perfectly. He hits the three with range and he can pull-up off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990368' first='Ty' last='Salazar'] Vista Grande

A quick undersized scoring point guard. He is very aggressive on defense with quick hands and feet. He will rattle in threes with an unorthodox stroke off the catch or pull. He will pull-up off the dribble with a very quick release. He has some serious jets with the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2761277' first='Savion' last='Smith'] The Gregory School

The younger brother of [player_tooltip player_id='2133645' first='Razin' last='Smith Jr'] is a very fluid guard who is highly skilled. The freshman guard can play a couple positions with his skill and has long arms. He shoots the three easily off the catch and he can create a little off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990366' first='Landyn' last='Urquidy'] Marana (Pictured)

An undersized scoring point guard sees the court well but is wired to score. He has a very shifty handle to create his own shot and gets to his spots with mid-range pull-ups and he will hit the three and is quick to get downhill. He is also a good on-ball defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990874' first='Aidan' last='Vasavilbaso'] Nogales

A skilled scoring point guard can shoot the three off the catch. He has some speed and quickness to get downhill to the basket. He plays the right way and he is a good passer. Nogales always seems to have some tough and skilled guards every year.
