Expert Analysis
John Millyard | Prep Hoops Scout
In his third season Smith has helped lead Gregory to now three Region titles. Last season he helped the Hawks secure its second consecutive State Championship. Smith has been dominant since starting his career at Gregory and this season is no different. He is averaging 15.2 points, 3.9 assists, 10.4 rebounds and just under 2 blocks per game. He’s a dominant force in the post on both sides of the ball. A high impact player and displays top notch leadership skills. Smith in my opinion is the favorite for the 1A South Player of the Year award.

The back to back state champ had a solid performance at this years showcase. A strong physical force in the paint that dominates the boards and blocks shots. A very solid mid range/floater and can shoot the three very well. A vocal leader and has a very strong feel for the game in all aspects.

Smith is a force in the paint. Strong rebounder. Great footwork and shows he has a high IQ for the game. Smith showed he’s a skilled dribbler and if needed can operate from the point although he thrives from the paint. Quick, smooth shot from the three that he can knock down consistently. Smith is entering his junior year and is already a two time state champion. Look for him the lead Gregory to a three peat opportunity this season.

Smith is a highly overlooked prospect despite being a two time state champion. He uses his big frame to dominate the post. High level footwork and can score with either hand. Confident shooting the open three as he knocked down a couple. Gifted rebounder who accounts for many second chance points. Very fundamentally sound. Impact player on both ends of the court. Great leadership on the court as well as when he came out of the game. Coming into his junior year I expect coaches to start taking notice of Razin.
