This weekend I attended the inaugural AZ Hoops JAMboree presented by Marcel Reece at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. There were two brackets of 16 each with 32 total teams. I watched 24 teams and here was my rundown of the event.

6th Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1758925' first='Vincent' last='Busalacchi'] Liberty

A strong wing forward with improving skill. He is a good passer and ball handler and will score with offensive rebound put backs versus bigger players, dribble drives and threes off the catch. A breakout season for Vincent looks to be coming.

[player_tooltip player_id='2630584' first='Patrick' last='Flores'] Tucson

A strong and skilled scoring point guard is a smart player who is a good passer. He passes it well in the post, handles some heavy ball pressure and he can hit the three off the catch or drive the lane in traffic with his girth. He is one of the team leaders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591737' first='Daniel' last='Garza'] Willow Canyon

A cerebral point guard with next level court vision who plays at a good pace. He is very unselfish to facilitate with passes up the court and drive and kicks plus he can score. He can burst to the basket plus shoot it from the perimeter. He is another talent for the West Valley school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591734' first='TJ' last='Harris'] Liberty

A quick on quick scoring point guard who will fill it up quickly. He will score it from all three levels with mid-range pull-ups, threes off the catch, he makes tough shots in the lane and often gets to the free throw line putting pressure on defenses with his speed and handle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339084' first='Samuel' last='Kalikilwa'] West Point

A strong and tough two-way shooting guard. He will defend and play multiple positions from the 1-3. He scores by getting downhill and he will play off of two-feet and then fall away from his defenders. He is a strong rebounder around bigger bodies and will go up quickly and score it. He plays within the flow of the offense and he will have to lead the way for them all year long.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990149' first='Jaylan' last='Knight'] Tucson

A dynamic point guard is quick and shifty. He is very quick on the ball defensively and gets his hands on a lot of balls with deflections and steals. He controls the pace but also will play fast with some serious jets. He can burst in the lane, he is very good in transition and he will hit the three off the pull or catch. He is one of the better sophomores in Tucson.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466075' first='Jayvein' last='Moody'] Mountain Pointe

A southpaw who is an attacking scoring combo guard who is fast, quick and shifty. He loves getting past his initial defender and using the floater. He is very aggressive to the basket and gets to the free throw line or scores with and-1's in heavy traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='2156657' first='Liam' last='Pavey'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A combo guard who can play on or off the ball. He handles the ball and reads the court well with next level court vision. He is truly more a natural scorer with tough pull-ups and threes off the catch or quick drives to the basket. He will also collect steals with quick hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2318334' first='Karson' last='Reid'] Williams Field

A long and leaner scoring guard who can pour in points quickly. He has a quick trigger with some range off the catch or pull. He is very confident as the lone returning varsity player with experience. He will have an official breakout season putting up big numbers nightly for the Black Hawks plus defend the passing lanes with his length.

[player_tooltip player_id='2109038' first='Nate' last='Tainsky'] Hamilton

A scoring guard with a little size and a pure stroke from the three point line. He can give a hard shot fake and get downhill to the basket with a quicker burst. He will hit the three off the catch and pull-up from mid-range. He has a good feel for the game and plays from the neck up.

[player_tooltip player_id='3005929' first='Derion' last='Thomas'] Central (Pictured)

A power forward is a newcomer for me from Baltimore, MD. He is a top notch rebounder chaser with his college like body and chiseled frame. He plays really hard to collect balls out of his area. He will score it primarily in the paint with softer hands and athleticism.
