Samuel is a lock down defender with good size and a nice outside jumper. Samuel is a point of attack defender for his team and often takes the toughest challenge on that end of the floor. Samuel can also get his on the other side from all three levels. He can get down hill and finish above the rim, rise up and hit a midrange jumper or hit a three of the catch or a pullup. Samuel lead his team to a top 2 seed in 6A and was honored with 6A West Valley Defensive Player of the Year.

Throughout the season, he proved to be a strong all-around contributor. He ran the floor well and made himself a scoring option in transition, finishing plays with athleticism, and touch. He was effective on the glass, consistently helping his team secure rebounds on both ends. He knocked down shots off the catch with confidence, and his ball-handling stayed steady under pressure. In the half court, he showed great poise when attacking the paint—absorbing contact, staying under control, and converting tough finishes at the rim.

Even though he missed a good portion of the final quarter with cramping, Kalikilwa flashed a very good offensive game. He hit some tough shots with defenders draped all over him. He also played a solid game defensively, making things very difficult for the man he was guarding.
