Heading into the high school season, I would like to highlight some players that I think are underrated or under recruited by colleges. These players are, in my opinion, either being overlooked by colleges at the level they could play for, or don't have enough schools at that level that are aware of the impact they could bring. Here's a look at six wings in the Northern VA area that need more love from college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2478844' first='Wyatt' last='Klein'] | 6'6” SF | Bishop Ireton

Klein is a late bloomer who could be a very big impact player both in the immediate and in the long run, as he comes with positional size and versatility to go along with it as well. The 6'6” wing can play on the perimeter and has the length to guard in the paint and challenge shots as well, he can make shots from deep off the catch at a good clip, he can deck it and get to spots where he can use his size to rise up and make tough midrange shots, and he impacts the game as a rebounder and a passer as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347772' first='Jake' last='Bahr'] | 6'4” SG | Bishop Ireton

Bahr has been one of Ireton's key pieces in their rebuild over the past few years, and when it's all said and done he at times gets overlooked because he quietly impacts the game in a lot of different ways, and is one of those players that is good at everything and will buy into whatever role he needs to in order to help the team. The 6'4” off guard is a high IQ player with great instincts on both ends of the floor, he's a good secondary ball handler who makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, he can make shots from deep and get downhill off the bounce, and he's a good rebounder for his position as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347778' first='Adam' last='Perdue'] | 6'4” SG | Broad Run

Perdue has been one of the most lethal shooters in the Loudoun area since he stepped on a basketball floor, and at 6'4” with an underrated skillset to the rest of his game he could be a player that immediately steps in and can make an impact with his ability to shoot it at a very high clip. While he doesn't have the most traditional form with a bit of an awkward release he shoots it at a very consistent clip with good range from deep, he can attack closeouts and score it in the midrange or get to the rim where he can finish or draw contact and get to the line, and he gets after it on both ends with good instincts as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459367' first='Shivas' last='Taylor'] | 6'3” SG | Highland School

We'll continue the trend of dead eye shooters throughout the rest of this list, as Taylor has shown time and time again that he can absolutely light it up from deep, doing it against elite competition on the way to Highland winning the VISAA D-I state championship and the Elite Prep League regular season as well. The 6'3” wing understands his game as he moves well off the ball and stays shot ready, he has great form from the feet up and has deep range, when it gets it going he can change the game with his shooting, and he competes and gets after it on both ends too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963530' first='Marcus' last='Hancock'] | 6'3” SG | St. Stephen's St. Agnes

Hancock transferred to SSSAS as a junior after being a star at John Paul the Great, and he played a huge role in their run to the VISAA D-I state semifinal appearance last year with his shooting ability and high IQ and instincts on both ends of the floor. He could come into a program and make an impact immediately as he shoots the ball at a high clip with effortless range and the ability to make shots on the move, he consistently makes the right play with his vision and understanding of concepts, and he is open to different roles and can be an impact in a number of different ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347783' first='Carson' last='Cook'] | 6'3” SG | Patriot

Cook is a bit of a late bloomer, but after a good junior season he followed it up with a big summer with Higher Level, and he's set for a big senior season and is a player coaches should watch with his positional size and ability to fill it up from deep. He has a very strong frame that he uses well defensively and when he gets downhill as he isn't afraid to be physical, he shoots a great ball from deep with range and consistency, he competes and has a good motor, and he's willing to leave it all on the floor every time he plays to help his team.
