High School Spotlight: Kokomo Wildkats

We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. Returning as the team's top scorer, Hammel averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists last season. At 6'3, he's one of the most versatile guards in Indiana's 2026 class, pairing athleticism with a relentless motor. There isn't a spot on the floor where he can't produce, and by all accounts, he has clear Division I potential.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player:&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='2468939' first='DJ' last='Nash']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/barrett-rucker/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kokomo is set to have plenty of talent on the wing this season, and one returning sophomore primed to continue his rise is <strong>Nash</strong>. As a freshman, he averaged 9.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game—one of the stronger stat lines in his class at the varsity level. At 6'3, Nash is a versatile wing who thrives in an up-tempo style, using his physical tools and bounce to impact the game both inside and out.
