Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase – Team 2 Evaluations

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is arguably the most popular event that we put on each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Dudley will see his game take off as he physically develops and gets stronger. He already has good footwork on the perimeter, handles it well enough to share in some playmaking duties, and showcases a high basketball IQ. The 5'5" point guard obviously isn't the biggest prospect, but he made up for his lack of his with consistent, tenacious on-ball defense. He was very disruptive as a perimeter defender. Johnson also knocked down a pull-up three-point shot on the right wing during 5-on-5 as he brought the ball up the floor. The 5'11" guard from Floyd Central High School has a quick first step and gets good elevation on his pull-up jump shots. During 5-on-5 play he had several strong drives to the basket, went coast-to-coast for a layup, and knocked down a handful of jumpers. He fit in well alongside a very talented backcourt and found a way to excel in his roll. One of his most impressive plays from 5-on-5 action came when he crashed the offensive glass hard from the perimeter and finished a putback at the front of the rim amongst opposing size. The 5'10" guard did a little bit of everything for Team 2. He hit mid-range jump shots, finished straight line drives to the basket, and even mixed it up on the offensive glass with a couple of putbacks. Green drove it hard and finished with a floater in 5-on-5 action before a similar drive that he dished out for an open perimeter shot. He had a run out layup in transition at the first half buzzer and a nice baseline drive that he finished up around the rim as well. The 6'4" forward from Cardinal Ritter High School certainly affirmed himself as one to watch in Indiana's Class of 2029. His athletic and physical tools standout right away. Those alone make him very projectable as a prospect. However, he impressed us with his ball skill which he flashed on a coast-to-coast drive after pulling down a rebound. He is positionally very big at 6'3" with a strong build while having the skill to play out on the perimeter. He drove it well throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase including a tough And-1 finish. He also got out ahead of the defense and had an impressive rim-run finish in transition.
