Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase - Team 12 Evaluations

Our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is arguably the most popular event that we put on each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Here are our evaluations from the prospects that made up Team 12 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.   ***Editor's Note: in the event that we missed a prospect or you notice something wrong with your profile please contact Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com and we will work to quickly remedy the mistake.***    Lightning quick 5'8” Guard out of Pike High School that was a difference maker on the defensive end at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Used his quickness to pressure the ball. Played with active hands creating turnovers. Offensively he's a shifty lead guard that thrives on getting in the lane and able to finish with his floater. Really effective in transition utilizing his speed and court vision pushing the pace and finding open teammates.     Long and lanky 6'0” combo guard that played with lots of energy and effort on both ends of the floor. Defensive minded guard that was able to guard multiple positions. Had several steals in the 5v5 portion simply by being in the right spot as a help side defender. Offensively he was a good cutter off the ball as well as a good rebounder that crashed the boards hard.     Supremely confident lead guard that impacted the game with his high IQ on both ends of the floor. Offensively he's a shifty pass first guard that has the ability to throw teammates open. He played under control in pick and roll situations drawing the defense and making the right reads to hit either the roll man or skip pass to the corner to shooters. Defensively he was scrappy on the ball with quick hands and feet pressuring ball handlers.     Crafty 5'9” guard that was really impressive getting in the lane at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Smaller guard with a quick first step that was consistently getting two feet in the paint. Showcased a soft floater as well as crafty finishes getting all the way to basket finishing with either hand. In transition he played at his own pace and was really good with advance passes to teammates ahead.     Athletic 5'11” guard [player_tooltip player_id='2958094' first='Titus' last='Wilburn'] impacted the game on both ends of the floor. Quick defensive minded guard with a long wingspan was a defensive stopper. Capable of guarding multiple spots on the perimeter. Really good on the ball defense with active hands as well as being in position as the help side guy. Good rebounder that pushed in transition. Confident shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Knocked down a transition pull-up three in the 5v5 portion.     Arguably the highest potential prospect to play at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, [player_tooltip player_id='2892383' first='Corey' last='Brown'] Jr's combination of size, length, and athleticism set him apart from pretty much every other prospect in attendance. Quick leader off the floor defensively as a rim protector and rebounder. Fluid athlete that ran the floor well and got position. Possesses good hands and a soft touch over either shoulder. Also showed a promising touch from the outside on his jump shot.     Physical wing/forward that plays at a methodical pace. Skilled ball handler that uses his size to get to his spot where he can finish around the basket with a soft touch or showed really nice court vision and passing skills to fit some through tight windows. Defensively he's a physical presence down low that did a good job being in help side defense. He was vocal to his teammates being on the backline and when a shot went up he rebounded at a high level.     Defensive minded wing with length from Tippecanoe Valley showed his versatility on both ends of the floor. Defensively he was vocal and active playing with his hands up. Several times in the 5v5 portion he got deflections leading the other way for baskets. Strong rebounder that could lead the break with confidence. Aggressive getting downhill looking to score. In the half court he showed he's a capable shooter with a clean stroke that knocked down open looks.
