Whether you like it or not, transfers are a part high school basketball at this point. Some are obviously due to legitimate reasons. However, others are often motivated by athletic reasons. The IHSAA recently passed what, for all intents and purposes, is a one-time transfer rule which has made this off-season busier than ever. We here at Prep Hoops Indiana have no real dog in the fight in terms of the transfer epidemic and do not intend to play one side of the issues or the other. Our job is to simply evaluate the prospects. Where they go to school is of no real concern to us. Now that school is back in session and the dust has, mostly, settled let's take a class-by-class look at the impact transfers heading into the 2025-2026 season. We will now dive into the Class of 2026.

After three years of varsity experience at Valparaiso High School, Avery has moved to reigning Class 3A State Champion South Bend St. Joseph for his senior season. The long, athletic, 6'2" guard averaged 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last year for the Vikings and will add valuable depth to a very talented Huskies backcourt.

The addition of Dillard, a 6'6" forward from Evanston, Illinois, will help keep Liberty Christian among the favorites in Class 1A for another season. He was an instant impact piece in June and really shined at the Charlie Hughes Showcase for the Lions. Dillard's combination of size, agility, strength, and skill will make him a very tough matchup against 1A competition.

One of the best under-the-radar big men in the rising senior class, Dobre put up impressive numbers throughout his career at Class 1A Marquette Catholic. The 6'7" forward/center averaged 15.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game as a junior. He will suit up for Class 4A Michigan City High School for his senior season.

Elmore is back at Avon High School, where he spent his freshman season, after two very productive years at Mooresville High School. The athletic 6'3"-6'4" hybrid wing/forward averaged 9.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game as a junior and should instantly make an impact in the Orioles lineup as a senior.

Harbin has bounced around throughout his high school career and will play his senior season for Class 2A favorite Gary 21st Century. The 6'10" center is one of the biggest interior presences in the state of Indiana and should remain on the radar of college programs looking to add some size to their roster in the Class of 2026.

A lightning quick point guard, McGee gets end-to-end with the ball in his hands as well as anyone in the rising senior class. He does a great job of consistently getting paint touches, is excellent in transition, and has the explosiveness to elevate and finish consistently with both hands at the end of his drives. McGee will play with reigning Class 2A State Runner-Up University after transferring from Indianapolis Metropolitan.

This 6'6" athletic wing has started to get some college interest from small college and JUCO programs. Overton makes the moves over to Evansville Mater Dei after cracking the rotation each of the last two seasons at Evansville Reitz. He should flourish in more of a go-to role this season.

A move-in from the state of Florida, Wilkas will help keep Princeton Community among the top of Class 3A this season. He was an instant impact addition to the front court in June and will be one for small college coaches to familiarize themselves with heading into this winter.
