I was really impressed with Filia for Nova Village this spring and summer as a shifty guard with the burst and ball handling ability to get by defenders off the dribble and uses his positional size to score at the rim. A dynamic offensive player, Filia can light it up from downtown, slash and score at the rim and make plays for others as a passer. This year could be the breakout season for Filia who has the potential to be one of the most impactful point guards in central Ohio as just a Sophomore. The Olentangy school district has produced some of the top players in the state and Filia could be the next superstar from northern Columbus.

Getting some quality experience with Moeller's JV squad as a freshman, Donald had an impressive month of June with the Crusaders as he's going to be one of the primary players running the show offensively. A dynamic guard who has a lot of ability with the ball in his hands, it is no surprise that he found success with WV Gold 15 U as a scoring guard who can knock down contested pull-up jumpers. Despite not getting varsity action as a freshman, Donald is already well-known across the Cincinnati area and he certainly won't be sneaking up on anybody this season as opposing players and coaches know the talent he has on the offensive end of the court. Excited to see a new era of Moeller basketball with a loaded 2028 and 2029 class getting their chance to leave a mark starting this season.

A new name I found during Midwest Live, Waller is the next Whitmer guard with a ton of talent. After graduating Antione West Jr (Purdue) and Makhi Leach (Bowling Green) last season, there's opportunity to rock out with the ball in your hands and Waller was the one taking advantage of that opportunity. Waller scored in transition, made shots and applied impressive defensive ball pressure from the point guard position when I saw him in Sandusky. Despite losing what Whitmer did to graduation, with Waller and [player_tooltip player_id='2309692' first='Andre' last='Young III'] back the Panthers will have one of the most talented backcourts in the Toledo area.

Asberry was with Richmond Heights last season and played a major role on one of the top teams in the state. Asberry is a tough defender, makes shots and has the athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the court. At Euclid now, Asberry stood out at Midwest Live, looking comfortable playing for Quentin Rogers, his Richmond Heights coach as well. It will be interesting to see Asberry in a featured role this season as a player with experience and leadership for a young, hungry and talented Euclid squad.

Ontario has a trio of 2028 prospects who made a splash at our freshman showcase last August, all showing impressive potential to play at the next level. Brown was the most productive of the trio as a freshman, earning all state honors and scoring over 14 PPG. The slashing ability of Brown is tough to stop as he has a strong upper body, can change directions quickly off the dribble and the lefty has soft touch at the basket. Look for Ontario to be one of the top programs in Division IV over the next three seasons as their 2028 class is loaded with talent.

It seems like the city of Lima produces talented guards at an extremely high rate and Burton is next in line. A strong slashing guard who wants to use his strength to bounce off defenders in the lane, Burton is tough to stop because of his ability to change directions and stay on balance. Able to score out of isolation situations, Burton was valuable for [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] as a guy who could make something happen late in a shot clock situation. Burton has already really impressed me with his mid-range pull-up ability and I'll be looking for him to expand his range beyond the 3-point arc consistently this winter to take his offensive game to the next level.
