The months of April and May are always interesting ones in the northeast, as prospects throughout the region, and the country, announce their intentions to do post-graduate years at prep schools in each of New England's six states.

This typically means that our first, post-spring, rankings update is one that not only contains a lot of movement, but a lot of Newcomers as well.

Today, we'll feature some of those prospects that are making their first appearance in the New England's 2026 rankings; prospects that either announced their intention to transfer into the region, decided to do a post-graduate year, caught our eye after appearing on the Watch List, or simply made the most out of the spring travel season to assert themselves into the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2641692' first='Cheickna' last='Sylla'], a physically imposing big man out of Bridgton Academy, is the highest ranked Newcomer in this update. He checks in at #23 after announcing that he will do a post-graduate year in Maine. A stock riser this spring, he's picked up offers from Utah and UTSA.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440697' first='Atticus' last='Richmond'], a versatile wing out of Illinois, announced that he will head to the Newman School this fall for a post-graduate year. After a strong spring on the UAA circuit, he cracks the rankings at #44.

[player_tooltip player_id='2868667' first='Ethan' last='Ostane'], a crafty scoring guard out New York, has been a standout this spring with Team New England Basketball Club. After announcing his intention to do a post-graduate year at Putnam Science Academy, he makes his first appearance in the rankings at #45.

[player_tooltip player_id='2555591' first='Cory' last='Geason Jr.'], a talented two-way wing that spent last season at Prolific Prep, has announced that he will transfer to CATS Academy and in doing so, breaks into the rankings at #46.

Ford, a combo guard originally from New York, makes his first appearance in these rankings after announcing that he'll reclassify and attend Phillips Exeter Academy. A high academic prospect, he has good positional size at the guard spot, shows some real wiggle off the bounce, and knows how to create space to get into his shot. He's a crafty finisher around the rim, can score in his pull-up game, and knocks down shots consistently in catch and shoot situations. He provides defensive versatility, with the ability to guard any spot on the perimeter.

Schorr, a scoring guard out of New Jersey, cracks this list for the first time after opting to do a post-graduate year at the Hotchkiss School. A high level perimeter shooter, he's really good in catch and shoot situations, but also shows the ability to step behind screens off the bounce and make threes too. He moves well without the basketball, makes solid decisions with the ball in his hands, and can score around the rim with some touch and creativity. He can defend either guard spot, using his size and length combo to be disruptive in passing lanes.

Spinoso, a skilled wing from Cheshire Academy, enters the rankings for the first time at #122. Another multi-level scorer, he's a big guard that's comfortable operating as a decision maker with the ball in his hands. He has impressive floor vision, particularly in the half-court, and does a nice job of delivering passes on time and on target. He uses his size to score in the paint, but has also proven to be a consistent shot maker from behind the arc. Defensively, his length creates problems in passing lanes and he has a good feel for where he needs to be in the help.

Massiah, a scoring guard out of New Hampshire, makes an appearance in these rankings after opting to do a post-graduate year at the Winchendon School. One of the top prospects in the NHIAA last winter, he's an impressive athlete with plus length and good positional size. He can operate as a creator with the ball or as an off ball scorer and probably profiles best as an athletic 3-and-D guy at the next level. He finishes above the rim in space, knocks down shots in catch and shoot situations, and defensively, has the ability to keep opponents out of the paint while forcing turnovers.

Mayfield, an athletic forward at Pope Francis, jumps into the rankings at #143 after previously appearing on the Watch List. A high motor forward that can make plays on both ends of the floor, his 6'7" frame is boosted by his plus wingspan. He moves well in space, does a nice job of rim running in transition, and scores with either hand in the paint. He crashes the offensive glass, sets good screens, and can put the ball on the floor for multiple dribbles in space. On the other end, he guards in the post without fouling and is terrific on the defensive glass.

Hoffmaster, a talented guard at Concord Academy, also makes the jump from the Watch List, cracking the rankings at #163. A capable ball-handler that continues to improve as a decision maker, he's more combo than off guard, showing the ability to run the show in spurts. He's got the strength to play through bumps, knows hows to play at different speeds, and can make shots in the mid-range and from behind the arc. Defensively, he can guard any perimeter spot, isn't afraid to be physical at the point of attack, and does a nice job of rebounding in space.

O'Neil, a tough lead guard from New Hampshire, makes his first appearance in the 2026 rankings after announcing that he'll do a post-graduate year at Phillips Exeter Academy. A compact guard with a low center of gravity and the ability to quickly change speeds or direction, he's really good at breaking down a defense with the ball in his hands. He makes good decisions in ball screens, can score with creativity in the paint, and makes shots off the bounce from behind the arc. Defensively, he can hound opposing ball-handlers in space, forcing mistakes that lead to turnovers.

Wilson, a combo guard at Trumbull, lands at #189 after previously appearing on the Watch List. A gifted scorer, he has the ability to break down defenders in isolation situations, leading to baskets at multiple levels. He's really good in catch and shoot situations, knows how to get downhill off the bounce, and can elevate over the defense in the mid-range. He plays with strength on the ball, does a nice job of running the floor in transition, and is first to the floor for loose balls. Defensively, he'll defend either guard spot and is quick when jumping passing lanes.

Farrell, a scoring guard at Masconomet Regional, makes his first appearance in the rankings after a strong junior season in Massachusetts. A score first guard with the ability to make plays for others off the bounce, he does a really good job of moving without the basketball and using screens to get open. When he has the ball in his hands, he leverages his shooting to open up driving lanes, taking advantage of shot and pass fakes, as well as hesitations, to create space to get into his jumper. Defensively, he competes on and off the ball and shows a high basketball IQ in the help side.

Lewis, a talented scorer out of the Middlesex School, cracks the rankings at #210, marking his first appearance on this list. A plus athlete with good positional size and length, he's at his best in the open floor, when he can get downhill and attack the rim. As a finisher, he has the athletic pop to finish above the rim, but also shows an impressive arsenal as a finisher. The lefty can make shots in the mid-range and continues to expand his range out to the three. Defensively, he's really good off the ball, creating a high number of steals and deflections.
