Hoffmaster is one of my favorite players in New England and probably doesn’t get the recognition he deserves because of the fact that he isn’t as a prep powerhouse. However, after an amazing summer with the Middlesex Magic, the 6-foot-3 wing needed to rise in our rankings. He doesn’t have an offensive weakness and has great versatility on that end as a result of his shooting ability, handle, and passing ability. Hoffmaster should be Concord Academy’s best player this season and will play high level D3 ball if I had to guess. I think he could even get some low scholarship looks because of his ability to play around great players.

Hoffmaster, a physically mature guard out of Concord Academy, impressed with his ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways. A big guard with a college ready frame, he did a nice job of knocking down shots in catch and shoot situations, while also showing some wiggle as a driver. He used his frame and size to finish around the rim and elevates nicely into his jumper, allowing him to get if off over most defenders. On the other end, he can guard any perimeter spot, bumps opposing guards off their spots without fouling, and does a nice job of rebounding in space.

Hoffmaster was Middlesex Magic Alex’s best player in a 26 point win over Team Sims UAA. The 6-foot-3 wing hit 7 three pointers and showcased a really well-rounded offensive game. He can handle it on the perimeter and is so unselfish when it comes to kicking the ball ahead in transition. He’s one of the hardest working wings in the area and never takes any plays off, and his versatility on the defensive end allows him to guard lots of different kinds of players. Hoffmaster should have a really nice senior season at Concord Academy, where he was a NEPSAC honorable mention this past season. High D3 player for sure.

Hoffmaster, a talented guard at Concord Academy, also makes the jump from the Watch List, cracking the rankings at #163. A capable ball-handler that continues to improve as a decision maker, he’s more combo than off guard, showing the ability to run the show in spurts. He’s got the strength to play through bumps, knows hows to play at different speeds, and can make shots in the mid-range and from behind the arc. Defensively, he can guard any perimeter spot, isn’t afraid to be physical at the point of attack, and does a nice job of rebounding in space.

I was really impressed with Hoffmaster’s combination of strength and skill on Monday’s college night. The 6-foot-3 junior is coming off a really nice season for Concord Academy and looks to be even stronger than he was a couple months ago. When he gets a head of steam going downhill, he keeps his line very well and is super under control; he does a great job getting to two feet in the paint and either finishing around the rim, hitting his pull up midrange jumper, or finding teammates for easy shots. He plays the right way and has an excellent motor that allows him to play hard consistently. Should be a great D3 player somewhere.

Hoffmaster, a heady guard at Concord Academy, is a big-time shooter from behind the arc that has recently added some other wrinkles to his game. A terrific perimeter shooter, Hoffmaster does a great job of moving without the basketball and making himself available to teammates off drives. He’s great in catch and shoot situations, does a good job of getting his feet set early, and has nice elevation into his jumper. He knows what he does well and he does a good job of playing within himself. Defensively, he’s got a high IQ, good lateral movement, and is willing to mix it up on the glass for rebounds. He’s an intelligent prospect that does whatever’s needed to win and doesn’t force the issue or pick up unnecessary fouls. He’ll have a chance to shine at Concord Academy this winter and could be a prospect that high academics prioritize next spring.

Hoffmaster does everything you want a wing to do on the court: shoot, pass, dribble, rebound and defend. He had multiple strong takes to the rim showcasing really solid finishing ability and body control. He also must be watching tons of 2014 Spurs because he never holds the ball for more than 0.5 seconds, making him a good team player and driver of closeouts.
