Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from Spooky Nook in Hamilton, Ohio for UAA Session II/UA Rise Session I. The first live evaluation period of the spring brought coaches into the gym from all across the country which always helps to generate a different level of buzz. Throughout the weekend we dropped our typical notebook-style write-ups to provide coverage in real time. However, now as we debrief from the weekend, we will take a more expansive view of what we saw. Let's now dive in and take a closer look at the 16u level including some of the top stock-risers and new names from the state of Indiana.

It is always good to check in on young big men frequently because their development can happen rapidly. This 6'8" center has definitely continued to progress and showed some really improvements as an interior presence with the Indiana Jammers 16u team. Dougherty has a soft finishing touch around the basket, sound footwork, and the ability to alter shots on the defensive end of the floor. As he continues to get stronger his game will start to take off exponentially. We are excited to continue following his development.

In terms of athletic and physical tools there weren't many prospects from the state of Indiana built like Jones at UAA Session II/UA Rise Session I in Hamilton, Ohio. The 6'5" forward is a very good rebounder on both ends of the floor with the ability to elevate and go get the ball above the fray. Offensively he is a slasher and straight line driver who can dominate the offensive glass. Already ranked just outside the Top 50 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings, Jones flashed the potential over the weekend that has always kept us intrigued.

Ledbetter is a strong, undersized forward that was very effective during [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] 16u's perfect 4-0 weekend at UA Rise Session I. His strength and physicality is very difficult for many of his peers to handle. The New Haven High School product had a lot of success around the basket where he was able to bully smaller defenders and use his quick footwork to finish around larger defenders. The 6'3" forward has a versatile interior skill set and was a consistent part of his team's success over the weekend.

Loyd knocked in a game-winner in Progeny 16u's Saturday morning when connecting on his four three-pointer of the game with about five seconds remaining to clinch the victory. He went on to shoot the ball well throughout the weekend at UA Rise Session I while also serving as one of the primary ball handlers and playmakers for his team. The Terre Haute North guard's ability to facilitate from the point guard spot and shoot it at a high percentage when off of the ball is very impressive.

This Center Grove point guard had some really good moments for the Indiana Jammers 16u squad at UA Rise Session I. The strong, physical, 6'1" floor general is hard for opposing guards to handle when he gets around the basket. South plays with a lot of strength and physicality which makes him an excellent finisher at the end of his drives. He did a good job of consistently playing off of two feet and had flashes of both his scoring and playmaking abilities.

From an Indiana persecutive, nobody did more to improve their stock over the weekend than this 6'7" forward from Valparaiso High School. Wagner starred for [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 16u putting up 22 points in a win and posting a couple of other excellent performances including a 14-point first half against Middlesex Magic. The left-handed forward can stretch the floor, score inside, rebound, and defend. He genuinely showed it all while playing against primarily UAA-level competition.

Williams flat out dominated the game we watched of OPS 16u as they went on to finish up a 4-0 weekend at UA Rise Session I. The 6'8" big man was a consistent force in the paint, on the glass, and at the rim defensively. His size and bounciness inside make him a highly projectable prospect that really impressed us over the weekend. Look for a big summer and potential breakout junior season to come at Fort Wayne Wayne High School.
