If we are talking about stock-risers, Dougherty would be among those from the state of Indiana that increased their stock the most at UAA Session II. The 6’9″ big man has really improved as an interior presence. He still stepped out to knock down a couple of three-point shots on Sunday, but was excellent finishing around the basket both on the roll and via post moves. Dougherty finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots in an afternoon win for Indiana Jammers 17u that we watched.

A center that is starting to rise up the ranks in out Indiana Class of 2027 is Reed Dougherty Reed Dougherty 6'8" | C West Vigo | 2027 State IN of West Vigo High School. The 6’8 post player runs with Indiana Jammers on the UA RISE Circuit and has been one of the more steady frontcourt players all spring. Not only is he impactful around the basket, he is also versatile enough to space the floor out to three-point range very well. He holds an offer from DePauw.

This 6’8″-6’9″ junior forward/center has a lot of upside. Dougherty is a capable floor spacer from the front court with a smooth jump shot out to three-point range. He hit a couple of nice face-up jumpers on Friday night West Vigo’s win over South Vermllion. Dougherty finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds in the game.

This Class of 2027 in Indiana has a lot of intriguing size. Dougherty is certainly a part of that equation. The 6’8″ big man is coming off of a strong summer with the Indiana Jammers on the UA Rise Circuit where he showcased his offensive versatility. Dougherty has a good package of moves around the basket and carves out space well, but can also flash some face-up shooting ability when he is open. Look for him to really breakout over the next couple of years.

Another impressive Class of 2027 prospect with good size, Dougherty can also stretch the floor out beyond three-point range as a shooter. He has a compact stroke and high release point that project well for his ability to make them going forward. The 6’8″-6’9″ forward/center has transferred from West Vigo to Terre Haute North High School for his junior season and should make an instant impact for the Patriots. He played very well at Marian’s Elite Camp on Sunday.

We always talk about college programs circling back late in the process asking for the names of big men to add to their list. Here is one that you should go ahead and start to get acquainted with earlier in the process. The 6’8″-6’9″ center played well this spring and summer on the UA Rise Circuit for the Indiana Jammers. Dougherty has some intriguing interior skill with a soft touch and solid footwork. He can score with his right hand over his left shoulder in the post and even has flashed some face-up shooting ability. Look for Dougherty to have a breakout junior season at West Vigo High School and start to garner some name recognition around the state.

It is always good to check in on young big men frequently because their development can happen rapidly. This 6’8″ center has definitely continued to progress and showed some really improvements as an interior presence with the Indiana Jammers 16u team. Dougherty has a soft finishing touch around the basket, sound footwork, and the ability to alter shots on the defensive end of the floor. As he continues to get stronger his game will start to take off exponentially. We are excited to continue following his development.
