We did have the chance to see this prospect play, but simply hadn’t gotten around to writing about him yet. South had two very strong games while we were in St. Louis covering the P32 League on Thursday and Friday. The Southport High School rising senior had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals on Thursday. Then, he shot 5-7 from three-point range finishing with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists on Friday.
High IQ guard that just gets things done on the court. Won’t wow you with his speed or athleticism, but is fundamentally sound and knows how to make his teammates better. Capable of playing on or off the ball. Does a good job understanding how to get open running off screens while being really effective as a pick and roll ball handler. Good perimeter shooter that has an underrated middle game with a soft touch.

D1 Indiana
South went 3-1 on the weekend in Dallas participating on the E32 Circuit. South, a 6’1″ point guard from Center Grove High School, was a consistent top performer for his team throughout the weekend. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. South had a lot of success shooting it from beyond the arc making 13 total three-point shots across four games.

One of Center Grove’s go-to players as a sophomore, South averaged 9.3 points and 5.2 assists per game. The 6’1″ point guard is one of the best playmakers in the area, but has flown a bit under-the-radar to this point. However, that should change now that he makes his debut in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings at #90 overall. He has a big junior year loading.

is a smooth guard that can score in a variety of different ways. Uses change of pace and angles really well to get to his spot in the lane. Talented passer that seems to see the game one play ahead. As a shooter he shot 44% from three-point range to make him a dangerous all around scoring threat.
High IQ guard that does a really good job of balancing scoring and facilitating. Klinton is a smooth guard in the half court that doesn’t get sped up. Knock down perimeter shooter with a clean stroke. Plays at a methodical pace and uses angles well to get to his spot. Scans the floor really well and has great court vision looking to set his teammates up for scores.

South had a very good sophomore season for the Center Grove Trojans and looks to poised to breakout even further as a junior. He had games of 30 points and 32 points at the Charlie Hughes Showcase while averaging over 20 points per game while leading his team to a 4-0 weekend. His all-around scoring ability, which includes some impressive shot-making from the perimeter, makes him very dangerous with the ball in his hands. An under-the-radar Class of 2027 prospect to keep tabs on.

This Center Grove point guard had some really good moments for the Indiana Jammers 16u squad at UA Rise Session I. The strong, physical, 6’1″ floor general is hard for opposing guards to handle when he gets around the basket. South plays with a lot of strength and physicality which makes him an excellent finisher at the end of his drives. He did a good job of consistently playing off of two feet and had flashes of both his scoring and playmaking abilities.

There was an impressive level of versatility to this prospects game. He had the size and strength on the perimeter to be an issue for some smaller guards while his quick first step and overall skill level made it hard for bigger forwards to stay in front of him. Center Grove is going through a bit of a reloading process right now with South being among the large contingent of talented, young prospects.
