Live Period Roundup - Indiana Standouts From Various Events

Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from New Balance P32 in St. Louis, Missouri, Puma Pro16/NXTPRO in Richmond, Virginia, and Recruit Look in Nashville, Tennessee. However, there were a lot of Indiana-based teams that were in various other locations as well. As always, our goal is to cover everything to the best extent that we can. Here are some of the standouts from the Hoosier state during the first live evaluation period of July.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Bowling III was excellent throughout the month of June with his Anderson High School team and then really stood out in Las Vegas while leading UNRNKD Hoops 16u to a perfect 5-0 weekend. The talented 6'5" scoring guard averaged 23.0 points per game displaying his aggressiveness, athleticism, and finishing ability throughout the event. We have him ranked #17 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 rankings, but his production is starting to make us consider moving him up even further.     DeRossett was a spring stock-riser really proving himself as a top Class of 2028 prospect on the heels of a good sophomore season with Fort Wayne Snider. On Thursday he started off the live period in style connecting on six three-point shots and scoring 24 points in a win for Phenom United 16. He also had scoring outputs of 18 points and 15 points in 3SSB action down in Bryan, Texas. DeRossett is an excellent left-handed shooter with good size and athleticism on the perimeter.     We have been high on Gilpin's trajectory since first seeing him at South Ripley High School open gym prior to his freshman year. The 6'3" athletic guard had a breakout sophomore season and now has been a consistent top performer throughout the spring and summer with IBC [program_tooltip program_id='2620245' first='Team' last='Southern Indiana'] leading them to qualifying for the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He poured in 25 points in the Adidas Gold East semifinals along with a couple of other big performances over the weekend.     Getting the opportunity to be evaluated by Division I programs is exactly what the live periods are all about. Henderson made the most of his opportunity with [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 17u on the UA Rise circuit and it netted him his first DI offer from Le Moyne. The 6'6" skilled, versatile wing continues to have a great summer and really shined in a 33-point performance in Cartersville, Georgia.     IBC [program_tooltip program_id='2620245' first='Team' last='Southern Indiana'] 16u has quietly had a huge spring and summer. They qualified for the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, South Carolina next weekend and have several very talented Class of 2028 prospect. Noble, a 6'2" guard from Floyd Central High School, was one of the standouts from this past weekend. He had 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the semifinals of the Adidas Gold East bracket and another game of 12 points and 7 assists as well. Noble is a highly skilled backcourt presence.     We did have the chance to see this prospect play, but simply hadn't gotten around to writing about him yet. South had two very strong games while we were in St. Louis covering the P32 League on Thursday and Friday. The Southport High School rising senior had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals on Thursday. Then, he shot 5-7 from three-point range finishing with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists on Friday.     This 6'1" guard from Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School suited up with [program_tooltip program_id='2383637' first='Summit' last='City Elite'] - Schultz over the weekend and turned in several big time scoring performances. Van Order had games of 26 points, 29 points, and 26 points in wins over the course of the weekend. He stretches the floor well as a catch-and-shoot threat, but also attacks closeouts well and has a good pull-up game off of the dribble. Obviously we didn't see him in person this weekend, but the production was notable.     We've had the opportunity now to watch Wilson play on back-to-back weekends. We saw him at the NXTPRO Session 10 event in Lebanon last weekend and then caught Fire Basketball 17u's game in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday. This strong, athletic, 6'1" guard is a consistent top performer for his team and is having an excellent spring/summer all-around. He helped his team to a 2-2 weekend while averaging a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wilson has consistently proved himself as an excellent rebounding guard.
