If you want to talk bully basketball, that is what we saw often from junior guard Lavell Ledbetter. The 6’3 guard with a football player frame was super physical throughout the whole game finishing with 9 points and 7 rebounds in New Haven’s tough loss to Cathedral. He used his big frame to make plays around the basketball and was not afraid to go after boards on both ends of the floor. He deserves major credit to keeping New Haven in the fight on Saturday.

Ledbetter is a strong, undersized forward that was very effective during OPS 16u’s perfect 4-0 weekend at UA Rise Session I. His strength and physicality is very difficult for many of his peers to handle. The New Haven High School product had a lot of success around the basket where he was able to bully smaller defenders and use his quick footwork to finish around larger defenders. The 6’3″ forward has a versatile interior skill set and was a consistent part of his team’s success over the weekend.
