If you like athleticism and verticality in your front court then you should start taking a look at one of the top prospects in the Fort Wayne area. Williams, a 6’8″ junior big man at Fort Wayne Wayne High School, jumped into our Top 50 in this rankings update. Not only is he a beast around the rim as a finisher and rebounder, but he has flashed the ability to make catch-and-shoot three-point shots as well. Williams is absolutely one of the highest upside prospects in the Fort Wayne area in the Class of 2027.

Williams received very limited varsity action as a sophomore for a Fort Wayne Wayne team that went 17-7 after back-to-back trips to the Class 4A North Semi-State. However, we got eyes on the 6’8″ big man over the summer and immediately fell in love with is athletic and physical tools as well as his motor. He can stretch the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat some, but also really shines as an interior presence that plays above the rim at both ends. Williams can be a big time rebounder and is set to emerge as one of the top prospects in the Fort Wayne area this coming season as a junior.

College coaches always end up circling back at some point late in the recruiting process in search of size. Therefore, identifying young big men is always in vogue to give those coaches prospects to recruit on the front end. For guys like Williams, a 6’8″ center from Fort Wayne Wayne High School, that allows them to shoot up the rankings in a hurry. This strong, athletic big man jumped from the watch list to #69 over in the Class of 2027 after a very strong showing on the UA Rise Circuit with his OPS
squad. He is a physical finisher at the rim, rebounds everything, and flashes upside as an interior defensive stopper. There is a lot to like about his game and his long-term potential. Look for Williams to have a breakout junior season for the Generals.

Williams flat out dominated the game we watched of OPS 16u as they went on to finish up a 4-0 weekend at UA Rise Session I. The 6’8″ big man was a consistent force in the paint, on the glass, and at the rim defensively. His size and bounciness inside make him a highly projectable prospect that really impressed us over the weekend. Look for a big summer and potential breakout junior season to come at Fort Wayne Wayne High School.

Similar to his Class of 2026 counterpart at Fort Wayne Wayne High School, this 6’7″-6’8″ big man really caught our attention at the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. Playing with a very good OPS
– UA Rise 16u squad, Williams’ size obviously stands out right away but it is the way he rebounds the basketball and protects the rim that makes him an intriguing prospect. Certainly one to keep an eye on.
