Prep Hoops Indiana Regional Preview - Class 4A North

<p>There were 403 teams that started the journey to Gainbridge Fieldhouse last week. Then, on Saturday, we crowned 64 Sectional Champions. We will cut that field in half once again this coming Saturday in the Regional round. As always, Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage throughout Sectional week and will be hitting a handful of different gyms for Regional action as well. As we did prior to Sectional week, we will spend this week previewing the 32 Regional matchups that will be played on Saturday, March 15th. They are 21-2, feature a couple of star juniors in [player_tooltip player_id='1561617' first='Dikembe' last='Shaw'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1561445' first='Mason' last='Darrell'], and have won eight straight games including cutting down the nets in Sectional 1. However, their two losses came in back-to-back games in early February with the second coming at the hands of the Portage Indians, 64-40. The loss was unexpected, but the blowout loss made it even more shocking. Portage's senior trio of college players [player_tooltip player_id='1297027' first='Garrett' last='Clark'] (Air Force), [player_tooltip player_id='1297094' first='Michael' last='Wellman'] (Grace), and [player_tooltip player_id='1297112' first='Samuel' last='Wellman'] (Bethel) are certainly very talented players, but Crown Point will be out for revenge in this matchup.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Under-the-Radar Regional</h2>   <p>Unfortunately, Warsaw will continue to be without Grace signee [player_tooltip player_id='2050029' first='Luke' last='Bricker']. The Tigers still cut down the nets in Sectional 4, have a 25-4 record, and are ranked in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A Top 10. However, missing Bricker, will make things harder with each step towards Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Fellow senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2391213' first='Brandt' last='Martin'] has had an excellent season and will look to step up even further in Bricker's absence. As for South Bend Riley, they are 21-4 led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1297088' first='Marvin' last='Schindler'], junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2398991' first='Tyrese' last='Jones'], and a deep stable of other veteran backcourt pieces.
