There are several really talented big men for small college programs to recruit this season. Crane, who jumped from #77 to #64 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2025 Prospect Rankings, is certainly one of them. The 6’7″ center from Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School currently holds offers from Albion, IU-South Bend, Manchester, Trine, and Wabash. He is a great rebounder, throws outstanding outlet passes, and can score it around the basket offensively.

Crane is consistently one of the best rebounders in the gym no matter the setting. He showcased that high-level skill once again on Friday night at the GRBA Nationals leading OPS – Ervin 17u to a dominant 71-39 win over 5Star – Solarek. The 6’7” forward scored a team-leading 15 points while controlling the glass and consistently getting the break started with his on-point outlet passes. Crane has put together some really impressive performances this spring for OPS – Ervin. The 6’6″-6’7″ big man moves around well for his size, controls the glass well, and has flashed some intriguing ability as a passer. He is really good at starting the break with an outlet pass after a rebound and can hit cutters with his back to the basket in the post. There is a high upside to his game and should be highly sought after this summer by small college coaches around the Midwest. High academic prospect that is coming off of averaging 18.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game at the Memorial Day Run & Slam in Fort Wayne.

We wrote about Crane some during the event as he really stood out on Friday night for OPS – Ervin 2025, but he deserves some continued attention coming out of the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. The 6’7″ forward from Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School is a double-double machine this spring showcasing his strength on the block, sound footwork, and some flashes of athleticism. Crane did an excellent job of starting the break with pinpoint outlet passes and was even able to handle it a bit in the open floor to advance the ball. Intriguing post presence for small college programs to watch.
