from Carroll High School. A true center in every sense, Murphy is a massive post prospect who displayed strong big-man instincts on the floor. He boxed out well, hustled end to end, showed soft touch around the rim, and was simply a load to handle in the paint. I really like his upside as he continues to develop his game.

In terms of long-term upside, Murphy has a ton to work with. The 6’7″ center from Carroll (Fort Wayne) H.S. put together a good summer and continues to impress with this length and two-way ability around the rim. We are really excited to have him at our Sophomore ID Camp to get a further, more complete evaluation of the high-upside young big man.

The raw size and length alone is enough to list Murphy as one of the top big men in the Class of 2028 at this point. A left-handed post player, Murphy was good on the roll, scored over his right shoulder, and moved well around the rim at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. His activity level and bounciness allowed him to be a productive rebounder on both ends of the floor as well. There is definitely some upside and raw tools to work with as he develops at Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School.

There was some impressive size at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase with this 6’6″ center from Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School being one of standouts. The big left-handed post player was good on the roll, scored it over his right shoulder, and moved well to maintain spacing as the ball was driven. His rebounding ability shined on both ends of the floor as well. Murphy is definitely an intriguing young post prospect to continue to watch as he develops.
