Coolman, a left-handed junior guard, poured in 24 points to go with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals on Saturday afternoon as Homestead knocked off previously undefeated Oak Hill 58-53. The Spartans improved to 13-5 on the season with their third straight victory. This 6’1″ playmaker and consistent outside shooting threat is a big reason why Homestead will be a real threat to advance in the state tournament once again.

Another standout for OPS 16u as they went 4-0, winning each game by double-figures, at UA Rise Session I in Hamilton, Ohio this past weekend. Coolman is a super skilled guard that can really shoot it from three-point range. In the game we watched he was hot from deep early and then used his threat from beyond the arc to open up the driving lanes where he found success with his floater and as a playmaker for others. This OPS team has a ton of talent and skill in the backcourt.

. Coolman is a smooth, lefty guard that controls the pace of the game at all times and is a really crafty playmaker with the ball in his hands. He played a role for Homestead this past season and going into next year, he will be tasked to level up his play. June will be a kickstart month for him into his junior season.

We came away very, very impressed with this sophomore guard on Friday night. Coolman led Homestead with 20 points and then backed it up with 12 points in their 56-52 win over Wayne on Saturday night to cut down the Sectional 6 nets. He plays with excellent pace and a high basketball IQ. Whether he is snaking his way to the basket off of a ballscreen, stopping to score in the intermediate range, or stretching the floor as a three-point shooter, Coolman has an offensive package that allows him to score from all over the floor.
