It isn’t easy to crack the Homestead rotation as a freshman. The Spartans have one of the most consistent programs in the state and are coming off of a Class 4A North Semi-State appearance. However, Weaver is going to earn a bunch of minutes as a freshman. The 6’1″ guard is a great athlete, handles the ball well, and provides some versatility in the backcourt. Weaver was a standout at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

Heady lead guard that plays at his own pace and lets the game come to him. Really good balancing scoring and facilitating as the lead guard. Capable of playing off the ball also, he was really good coming off screens and turning the corner. He was aggressive going to his right hand and using his body to create contact while finishing with a soft touch around the basket or dishing to open teammates for easy buckets.

Weaver’s older brother has matriculated through the system at Homestead High School and will play college basketball at Manchester. Now, Mason will look to step in and fight for a role with the Spartans. We have heard a lot of good things about this athletic guard and believe he can be one of the better young players in the Fort Wayne area.
