The district tournament is coming up and regionals are right around the corner. In two weeks time, half of the teams in Kentucky will no longer be playing basketball. With that said, Postseason KHSAA Basketball is a special time of year. Here's a look at some players who can be a true X factor in their Sophomore postseasons.

Calloway County has their sights set on Rupp Arena but they will need more than just [player_tooltip player_id='1513532' first='Jonah' last='Butler'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1229152' first='Eli' last='Finley'] to help get them there next month. In some of Calloway's biggest wins this season Luke has been a big part. For them to get a regional championship, Armstrong will need to string together the best stretch of games he's had to this point.

Stinnett is known for his shooting and is knocking down 44% of his threes this season. For Fairdale to put together enough complete games to win the hyper competitive 6th region, Michael Ray will need to be at his best. With teams scouting him to shoot it, Stinnett would be more of a problem to guard if he got more active off the bounce in the coming month. And he's a good free throw shooter who could thrive off getting those opportunities.

The 7th region is super competitive, especially at the top end. Gilvin is having a strong season while helping Trinity survive a bevy of injuries over the season. Averaging 10 points per game while shooting 49-45-77, Garrison has been a top player for the Rocks all season long. If they want to get back to Rupp Arena, Gilvin needs to be a steady contributor for Trinity for the next month.

May be a head scratcher for a kid averaging 2 points per game to make this list but I've always been high on Amare and he just scored 16 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists last night against Louisville Trinity. It's possible that Stewart is starting to turn the corner. Already atop the 2nd region, a bigger and more effective role for Amare could mean a trip to Rupp Arena for Henderson.

Thanks to injuries and attrition, Hord finds himself as the 6th man for a Taylor County team that has been overachieving all season long. Lane plays hard and has a knack for making winning plays for the Cardinals. With his offense being up and down this season, Lane is capable of making winning plays and that's exactly what Coach Kays has needed from him this year.
