Thanks to injuries and attrition, Hord finds himself as the 6th man for a Taylor County team that has been overachieving all season long. Lane plays hard and has a knack for making winning plays for the Cardinals. With his offense being up and down this season, Lane is capable of making winning plays and that’s exactly what Coach Kays has needed from him this year.

Lane is on a Taylor County squad that is heavy with Juniors and Seniors. Hord is doing the best to maximize his time on the floor and will have a big season of AAU ahead where he should have opportunities to prove himself against his peers.

Lane is no stranger to the camp circuit and he had a good showing at our Freshman camp event. Looking ahead, Hord is going to be capable of carving out a role for himself on a veteran Taylor County squad this winter as a shooter/scorer and will almost definitely have a big role at the freshman and JV levels.

Hord is a name that has been floating around in the 2027 class for a while but Saturday was my first time seeing him. On first viewing, there’s a lot to like. A versatile guard who can penetrate or knock down shots, Lane looks like he’ll be able to help Taylor County in their pursuit of a championship this season and could step up to be a main contributor his Sophomore through Senior seasons.
