SIU Commit Drops 33 in Vianney 61-60 Win

The first game of the day saw the host school O'Fallon go against St. Louis power Vianney. This was a very competitive contest that went down to the wire with Vianney edging by a final of 61-60. The difference maker was Southern Illinois commit [player_tooltip player_id='1419873' first='Luke' last='Walsh'] who is one of the top scorers in the St. Louis area. He was held scoreless in the first quarter and then exploded the last three quarters scoring 33 points in the victory. He is a shot maker from super deep as he drained four threes in this game along with some tough step backs and an array of euro steps. Such a crafty scorer in the lane. Early on they got a burst from their 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2090504' first='Ben' last='Karsten']. He also is a plus shooter from three that nailed four from distance. Tough kid that cuts well off the ball and is best as a spot up shooter with a quick release as he dropped 18 points.

O'Fallon was in this game all the way. Once again they got quality showings from their utility guards that bring toughness and score when opportunities present themselves. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2323293' first='Brenton' last='Hunter'] had 13 points using his athleticism on takes and hit a pair of threes. [player_tooltip player_id='2734465' first='Jayden' last='Dancy'] is another 2026 wing that can shoot it as he made four triples along with a mid-range jumper for 14 points. Their top prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1501486' first='Ben' last='Akoro'] flashed in this game having his moments. Long and lanky small forward in the junior class that won on a straight line take, mid-range jumper, take from the mid-post, scoop shot, and skied high for an alley-oop tip in. Solid passer especially finding shooters. Went for 14 points.

Webster Groves Underclassmen Duo Shines in OT Victory over Whitney Young

Next up was another nail biter that went down to the wire. Two very evenly matched teams as it was a one possession game almost at the end of every single quarter and then obviously tied going into overtime. Webster Groves got the win 71-68 securing a stop on the final possession of the game. What a show the top ranked sophomore in Missouri put on. [player_tooltip player_id='2334870' first='Scottie' last='Adkinson'] is a scoring combo guard that is a straight bucket getter. Shifty and creative with his handles being able to win off the bounce with his slick handles and has the strength to finish through contact. Such a great burst on his first step and hit a couple of threes as well. Willed his team to a win scoring 30 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2194999' first='Miles' last='Simpson'] is their other star young prospect. He has massive potential written all over him. Long and lanky small forward that handles it effortlessly. He made plays off the bounce throughout the night and was excellent on the glass snatching them on both ends throughout the win as he notched 17 points. He is one of the best 2028 prospects I have seen early in the process. [player_tooltip player_id='1651977' first='Quincy' last='Williams'] is a 2026 guard that is having a breakout season. He is at his best being a spot up shooting threat which he did in this game draining four threes for 14 points.

On the Whitney Young side in the early going it was as aggressive as we have seen [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] play. The unsigned top 10 senior was assertive taking it to the rim for big dunks along with getting to the foul line on a regular basis. Liked how active he was on the glass and was solid defensively as he went for 21 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1552475' first='Marquis' last='Clark'] has been rock solid all season long as the #2 2026 in the state did so again in this contest. Well built combo guard that can shoot it with confidence from deep nailing a trio of them along with using his size slithering through the defense for scores in the paint as he notched 18 points. Solid games from their utility guards as [player_tooltip player_id='1545124' first='Damajay' last='Richardson'] played with toughness and dropped a pair of threes for 12 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1552473' first='Alijah' last='Little'] showed more off the dribble than we had previously seen scoring 7 points.

Fishers Leaves No Doubt Moving to 20-0 against Manual

This one wasn't close from the beginning. The best team in Indiana totally looked like it with a blowout victory of 85-55 for Fishers over Peoria Manual. They are a complete team that is balanced and shares the wealth. Let's start with Stanford football commit [player_tooltip player_id='1525664' first='JonAnthony' last='Hall']. The top football player in Indiana is such a fun basketball player as well. Well built forward that plays with strength and athleticism at the rim recording three and-1s in the victory. Excellent passer as well that makes sound decisions. He had 18 points. Miami (OH) 2025 commit wing [player_tooltip player_id='1297069' first='Justin' last='Kirby'] has a very bright future. Broad shouldered wing that plays with toughness and physicality on his drives. Attacked downhill all night long in transition and the half court with burst and brute force. He had 23 points. The sophomore duo in the backcourt did their part as well. Highest ceiling prospect on this team is probably 2027 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] The 6'1” lead guard is much stronger than I remember seeing him last. He brings athleticism finishing around the hoop on reverse layups and transition dunks. Pushes in the open floor and makes sound decisions scoring 10 points. The other standout 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2140345' first='Cooper' last='Zachary'] is such an awesome passer. He has the ball on a string and elite vision setting up his teammates while scoring 6 points. Also got nice contributions from wing Millen McCarney who had 13 points and big man [player_tooltip player_id='1540000' first='Logan' last='Sigler'] with 10 points.

Terrance Paige was the story for Peoria Manual as the senior shooting guard who is their high-motor guy was really the only one who brought it on the primetime stage. He got to the cup in transition over and over along with hitting a pair of threes for 23 points. Bradley commit and top 5 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1576114' first='Dietrich' last='Richardson'] really struggled in this one after picking up two early fouls only scoring 5 points.

Vashon Tops Bolingbrook in Fast Paced Finale

The last game of the evening saw two of the premier programs in Illinois and Missouri along with teams that are veterans of this event battle. It was an up and down game with a lot of threes, turnovers, and athleticism! It was close throughout with Vashon pulling away late to win 64-56. Missouri State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1552480' first='Trey' last='Williams'] was lethal with his shooting from downtown as he made five from distance to start his scoring barrage. Super deep range on his shot being able to hit off the catch or pulling up. As the game went along he mixed in some quick passes and got to the foul line for 21 points. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='1422817' first='Terron' last='Garrett'] struggled in the first half, but turned it up a notch in the second. The projectable forward who is still uncommitted was a bit out of control early, but played much more composed in the second half as he slashed for scores, got on the glass for second chance points, and made some plays defensively for 14 points. Jimmy McKinney Jr is one of the top sophomores in the 2027 class in Missouri. He got off to a fast start with his deep ball as he connected on four of them in the win for 17 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] more than lived up to his status as one of the best prospects regardless of class in Illinois. He carried his squad for stretches in this game. Opened up on fire from distance banging in a pair of deep threes. Then he went to work scoring with his crafty handles. Put defenders in the spin cycle all night long with such nifty finishes at the cup. Sets up his moves and gets to his spots. Finishes very well in the paint. The sophomore sensation had 24 points. Valpo commit [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] was a force inside as the game went along and he got post touches scoring on quick spin moves and turnaround shots. Does a nice job of drawing fouls and rebounds well in his area as he notched 15 points. His brother freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] only scored 4 points on a mid-range jumper and scoop shot, but we love the poise he plays with for a young player. One of the top 2028s in Illinois is a solid defender and good connector on the perimeter. Big man [player_tooltip player_id='2244002' first='Jayden' last='Madden'] flashed in this game. Finished out of the dunker spot for a jam along with getting to the foul line where he made all four attempts for 6 points. Best basketball is ahead of this 2026 post.
