Here we dive into the top guards from this weekend's When Sides Collide Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326960' first='Tyreek' last='Coleman'] Waubonsie Valley 2025

Coleman is a calm floor leader who can score and facilitate the ball with precision against the toughest defense. He made a few shots from deep and also had several assists against Marist. He scored 24 points in the loss.

Josh Tinney Waubonsie Valley 2025

Under the radar guard who will make an open shot when he gets space. He's a solid ball handler that doesn't get rattled by pressure. Didn't seem to run away from the ball when the Warriors needed to get the offense running while Coleman was being denied.

[player_tooltip player_id='2341349' first='Rokas' last='Zilys'] Marist 2026

Stocky guard who can get downhill and create shots for himself with his physicality. Zilys has deep range on the shot and isn't bothered by pressure. What went under the radar was how well he crashes the offensive boards and can clean up around the basket for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1845365' first='Adoni' last='Vassilakis'] Marist 2026

A dependable point guard who is crafty off the dribble that looks to pass more than score. Has really good features for a small school prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] Bolingbrook 2028

Dependable guard who scored points in transition and off the bounce. Straight drives in the lane through contact. Brady is a scoring threat waiting to be unleashed. On Saturday he finished with 11 points vs Warren.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] Bolingbrook 2027

The matchup vs [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] was a must see TV. Davion is special with his handle and creativity with the ball. He displayed good footwork and shot selection in a back-and-forth contest. He is good with body control when playing off two feet. Something that's stressed a lot in college. Thompson led with 20 for the Raiders.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] Warren 2027

Davis is a very cerebral point guard. He scores a lot of points getting into guys and finding ways to create separation. Jaxson showed NBA range on some of his shots. Takes a very balanced approach to scoring /passing. One of the few guys that can make players better around him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2437519' first='Braylon' last='Walker'] Warren 2026

Walker had maybe his best game of the season since returning to the Devils. He made buckets from all three levels. Did a good job at scoring out of iso situations. From three he hit four shots that were in key spots of the game. Walker scored 20 points and was a key factor in the upset win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291830' first='Javerion' last='Banks'] Warren 2025

Banks played his second game of the season and looked good the first few possessions. Javerion made two big shots to get himself going. He forced a few bad shots in the second half, but Banks will continue to get better the more games he plays and gets back acclimated to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323334' first='AJ' last='Chambers'] DePaul Prep 2026

AJ is a thicker guard who makes an effort to get downhill and make tough layups in the paint. He thrives a lot on being a toe to toe defender and forcing guys into mistakes that he converts to points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385311' first='Robert' last='Walls'] DePaul Prep 2025

Steady guard who helps a lot with bringing the ball up the court. He took a couple of shots from three but they just missed. Walls is an elusive penetrator who can make a bucket or two out in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1435692' first='Rykan' last='Woo'] DePaul Prep 2026

Second night in a row where he faced heavy defense pressure. Woo did get some open shots in this matchup that he knocked down. Did manage to score 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545133' first='Makai' last='Kvamme'] DePaul Prep 2025

Kvamme was also stifled some. He Is at his best getting in the lane with his handle and scoring runners and teardrops in the middle of the lane. Makai is an athletic slashing guard who doesn't jack a ton of shots from three. Against H-F he was able to see the free-throw line a few times by just using his agility.

[player_tooltip player_id='1774274' first='Jayden' last='Tyler'] Homewood Flossmoor 2025

Jayden has been the rock for the Vikings squad this season. One of the few players on the teams who was a part of last year's run. Jayden is shot shot-making lead guard. He elevates on the perimeter and from mid-range to get almost the perfect release on his shot. Jayden also caused some havoc on defense and forced a steal late in the game that led to him with a two-handed dunk that sealed the win for Homewood Flossmoor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2044507' first='Brent' last='Taylor'] Homewood Flossmoor 2025

Brent didn't have a huge scoring night but he was part of the committee that slowed Woo down on the perimeter. Taylor scored two difficult points while the contest was still pretty close. He finished with just 6 points but managed to leave an impact on the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2467517' first='Darrius' last='Hawkins'] Homewood Flossmoor 2028

The freshmen guard made his WSC debut a memorable one. He made two memorable plays that helped H-F get the win. He's a terrific on-ball defender who gets under the opposing team's skin. He made a big shot in the 4th quarter to break a tie game and with 5 seconds left in the game. He made an all-out hustle effort to save a ball off a DePaul player that was thrown to his teammate on the other side of the court. These are small things that will help grow the allure of D-Hawk.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598658' first='Blake' last='Fagbemi'] Benet 2025

The Redhawks guard was a tough cover for the Raptors. He's a terrific shooter with slippery handles who likes to finish at the basket in various ways. Fagbemi used a spin move to get some slight separation at the rim. When Blake is locked in like that he's dangerous because he gives confidence to the others around him. Led his team in scoring with 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105390' first='Jayden' last='Wright'] Benet 2026

Wright became the human torch from three as he drained four big ones throughout the game. Jayden seemed to be very comfortable shooting deep shots while being covered toe to toe. He was the second scorer for the Redwings with 17 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734366' first='Jayden' last='Williams'] Rich Township 2026

Jayden had a solid start to the game before things got out of hand. The 6'4 guard is a thick-frame shooter who doesn't see a shot he isn't comfortable shooting. Williams drained a pair of threes as well as making some mid-range pull-ups late in the second half. He had 13 points for the Raptors.

[player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'] Rich Township 2026

Coulter was in foul trouble for most of the game but was able to get to the line a few times with his bully-ball mentality.
