27p 4r 1a 9/13 FG 7/8 3P vs Sunrise Christian PG

-Zilys enjoyed the most nuclear shooting performance of my time at the event with a near-perfect run from beyond the arc in a nice win over a stellar SCA defense. Zilys’ shot prep was immaculate throughout the afternoon, sprinting off of screens or to the corners before setting his feet incredibly quickly pre-catch to stabilize his momentum for the shots. His run of four straight 3s to start the 2H gave his team the lead for good as advanced conditioning allowed him to play heavy minutes without letting tired legs affect his off-ball movement.

Zilys makes his return to the New England rankings at #84. The Vermont Academy guard has some wiggle with the ball in his hands, allowing him to operate as both a shot creator and playmaker. He has good positional size, the ability to attack bad closeouts on the perimeter, and is a knockdown shooter in catch and shoot situations. His IQ and feel for the game stand out offensively, while defensively, he’s capable of moving his feet to stay in front of opposing ball-handlers.

Zilys is a 6’2″ guard out of Vermont Academy. The 2026 prospect is a crafty offensive performer that has the ability to create, facilitate, and score. Back at Vermont Academy, he’s a gifted scorer that does a nice job of getting to his spots in the mid-range and also has a quick release and deep range on his jumper. He’s a willing ball mover, makes good decisions as a passer of the bounce, and moves well without the basketball. Defensively, he can guard either spot in the back-court and does a nice job of being in the right spot out of rotations.

Zilys was the best player on the floor in this game.  The junior shooting guard was in a zone with his play scoring 28 points leading his team to the victory.  High level shot maker from beyond the arc that has a sweet looking stroke from three off the catch as he poured in three of them.  Like the athleticism in the open floor along with being able to create his shot in the half court with pull ups and athletic takes. Had a nice slash into a jump stop for a floater early in the game.  Has definitely put himself in the conversion for a D1 spot heading into the spring.
