Starts the break and has no issues throwing full-court outlet passes. I like how he can change gears in the attack. He is effective at turning the corner and touching the paint. Also has an array of finishes he can use around the bucket. You can see his athleticism throughout the game on both ends of the floor. Haynes finds ways to get to the charity stripe.

28 seed Brookline has to win a play-in game in order to get into the tournament, but it’s possible with Haynes at the helm. The junior guard is ridiculously quick and athletic and has consistently put up amazing performances on both ends for BHS this season. He might not have enough around him to make a true playoff run, but he can be the best player on the court in any game he plays, so you never know.

Watch list –> #111
As far as MIAA guards go, Haynes is pretty much as dominant as they come on both ends. The 5-foot-11 guard almost had a triple-double with steals earlier this season; he slides his feet like a madman and has his hands active and ready for steals when they present themselves. Offensively, the junior gets to the rim at will and explodes above the defense once he does so. He also has a special knack for finishing under and through the trees, regardless of his lack of size. Haynes is an electric point guard who’s going to bring Brookline to prominence in the MIAA for this year and next.

Haynes, a junior guard out of Brookline High School, pumped in 38 points in an impressive 87-56 win over Portsmouth. The 5’11” guard also added 10 assists and 7 steals in one of the more impressive wins of the early season. A blur in transition, Haynes has the ability to get wherever he wants on the floor off the bounce. He’s a crafty finisher around the rim, can make shots from behind the arc, and does a great job of making life difficult for opposing ball-handlers in space.

Haynes is only 5-foot-11, but he makes up for his lack of size with incredible speed, quickness and conditioning. He blows by anyone whenever he wants, and he shows some really solid passing instincts once he punctures the paint. At the rim, the junior has a knack for double clutch finishes amongst the trees; he made multiple layups that he had no business even getting off. Defensively, Haynes plays his behind off and uses his lateral quickness and aggressive hands to his advantage. He’ll be a star for Brookline this season and is a prime prep school reclass candidate.
