The Wingman Report: 2027s Surging In 2024-25, Part II

Dollar is having himself a strong sophomore year on the varsity stage with East Lincoln High. The Mustangs are 13-4 on the year and 6-1 in Western Foothills Conference action as the final weeks of January approach. Dollar is producing 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 3.1 steals and 2.2 blocks per game on 61 percent shooting from the floor and 40 percent shooting from behind the arc. He's knocked down 28 3-pointers across his 17 appearances while showing he can make plays for others, rebound in bunches and make things happen defensively. He's slowly earning himself a spot in the 2027 rankings when they update next month.     Matthewson is a prospect to keep an eye on in the 2027 class out of Martin County High. He's leading the way for them with 15.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Efficiency has been the name of the game for Matthewson as he's shooting 54 percent from the field including 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting against Bertie. He's a methodical creator in isolation who's shown he can score around the rim with relative ease with his length at 6-foot-5. He's a prospect to keep an eye on out of Martin County.     West is a prospect who continues to rise in the 2027 class with Freedom Christian Academy. He's been a dynamic piece in their backcourt alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1365507' first='Karsten' last='Swinney']. He's putting up 20.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per contest and ranks second in the state in 3-pointers made (90) on MaxPreps. He's set to move up in the rankings given his prowess shooting the ball on the perimeter as he pushes the Patriots toward the postseason.     Moore is another big man prospect in the 2027 class who's making a name for himself out of Harrells Christian Academy. He's starting to turn a corner in the Crusaders' frontcourt with 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as they're 22-2 on the year and riding quite the winning streak. He's shown he can be a presence in the painted area to take pressure off of their dynamic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1280878' first='Antonio' last='McKoy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1220126' first='DaShaun' last='McKoy']. He's due to earn himself a spot in the rankings when they update in February.     McBride is another sharpshooter in the 2027 class at Croatan High who's coming on strong in his sophomore season. He's shown his poise in knocking down shots on the perimeter and rebounding the ball with 19.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.3 assists per game for the Cougars. He's knocked down 43 3-pointers on 40 percent shooting from deep in 2024-25. As he continues to assert himself as a top shooter, look for his status to rise when rankings update next month.     Smith is a forward prospect to get to know in the 2027 class out of Southeastern Christian Academy. He's posted 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 assists per game as he's shown off an ability to utilize his size at 6-foot-6 on the interior. He's put together eight double-doubles on the year to showcase his emergence in the frontcourt. Given his skillset, he's shown he's worthy of attention in the 2027 rankings when they update in February.
