JJ continues to improve his efficiency each game out. In this game vs Bullis he dominated offensively in the second half. Went to work in the post, reading the defense while backing down the defender and dishing out dimes to open teammates. He also showed tremendous footwork in the post, making some nice moves to score in close. Spun off the post well and slashed the lane very effectively without forcing shots. Made a fair share of 3pt shots to vary his offensive attack. But even more impressive was the defensive versatility Massaquoi put forth, battling [player_tooltip player_id='1955967' first='Eric' last='Reibe'] down low for the majority of the night. He had many times where he outmuscled the big and stood his ground defensively and on the glass. Had a statement dunk over the 7-footer to help finish a 2-point win over the formidable Bullis School.

Jaquan was a nice consistent scorer throughout PVI's big 61-46 win over Georgetown Prep. He hit a lot of shots on the outside off the catch, whether it was outside the perimeter or a step or two inside. Used his athleticism well on the break and in the halfcourt, finished a number of plays with a dunk. The Towson commit attacked the basket strong, seeking out the contact over the big at times to negate the block attempt or draw a foul. Earned MVP honors after his steady game performance.

Jordan proved to be too much for his opponent as the game progressed and the physicality increased. He stayed locked in defensively and wreaked havoc all game for the opposition. Earned a lot of fastbreak opportunities, beating the defense down the floor for the big jam. Smith knocked down some nice jumpshots in the midrange off the dribble, rising over the closeout after selling the drive. Really unleashed his athleticism in the second half to help PVI pull away with the lead. Jordan was relentless all game and showed why he is a level or two above his DMV peers.

Diego got busy right from the jump in his outing vs Bullis. Hit a corner 3 right following the previous possession where he beat the defense for an easy layup. Made some very good passes throughout the game and had a great impact when out on the break playmaking. Turned in the most consistent scoring 1st half for the Tentley Tigers. Diego still remained a scoring threat in the second half, but did a good job of feeding the hot hand and making shots when needed. Positive presence on the floor each minute he's out there for Jackson Reed.

Devin was solid for the Cadets from tipoff to the final buzzer. Toatley knew when to be aggressive and knew when to allow his teammates to operate. Sank a number of jumpers from beyond the arc, and made some smooth shots in the midrange pulling up over the late closeout. Showed true control over the SJC offense. You could feel his control over the flow each time he entered the game from resting. Pushed the pace well but did not force anything when the defense was set. Made great finds all night and made sure to reward teammates for being in position to finish a possession. True catalyst performance from the highly ranked junior PG.

DJ has shown to be a consistent performer for Ryken each game out. This game vs Episcopal was another example of Derrick's improving scoring ability. He stepped out and knocked down two 3-pointers and his outside shooting touch looked like it improved significantly. He hit a number of jumpshots in a variety of ways; pulling up in transition, turnaround shots, and a couple in the halfcourt off the dribble. Always active on the glass, pulled down 5 in the first quarter alone. Came away with a few steals and finished on the other end a couple times. Can't watch a Ryken game without being impressed with Derrick's output by game's end.

Ben was a problem for St. Mary's Ryken and was vital in Episcopal's comeback overtime victory. Made plays with his passing more often in the first half of the game, but turned it up seeking out his shot in half #2. He knew he could get past the defense with his speed, but strategically made his drives to the rim when he knew he had the advantage. Did a great job drawing fouls through the whole 4th quarter and overtime period. Pretty much sealed the deal with his free-throw making in OT. The defense had a hard time staying in front of Edmonds as he was in the paint all game long. Would either finish at the rim or make timely kickouts picking up the 'hockey' assist. Drew a big charge late in OT to seal the win, proving to always be one step ahead of the opposition. Lot to like from the sophomore guard.

Simas continuously found himself breaking through the defense and finishing at the rim. He had a multitude of strong contact layups by the end of the overtime win over SMR. He was consistent in his slashing and living at the basket until the defense made the proper adjustment. Afterwards he still impacted the game both with his passing and outstanding defense and activity. He defended the rim at a high level and was pretty underrated as a rim protector. Simas played the ball well and knew how to leverage his positioning against the offensive player. He was all over the glass, collecting offensive rebounds and finishing the play often. Came away very impressed with Simas' high-level production for a young and determined Episcopal squad.
