I attended a few games in PG County this week, making sure to watch the JV games for 2 of the matchups to see the next wave of talent at their respective schools. There were several forward prospects whose unselfish production was very loud. Let's break down some of the best forward prospects that I saw this week!

-One of the youngest prospects in the local 2027 class, Jeffers is really starting to put it together as a forward prospect with a great motor. Jeffers' positioning feel for rebounds has really improved, and that improvement showed on well-timed dives to the rim for putback dunks in the 1H. He then showed the skill progression with a catch and one-dribble fader from the midpost that hit nothing but net. Then had one more great catch on the offensive rebound before stuffing it home for two points. His stamina and athleticism have really improved as well to allow him to play for longer spurts of time as a rim-runner and roll target off of high ball screens. Just received an offer from VT, expect more to follow as college coaches see his 2-way value and upside.

-Probably the most complete performance that I've seen out of the Turkish product as he showed the wide range of his skillset. Elitas hit a foot on the line pick n pop jumper from the top of the key, caught a tough pass in traffic before using the up fake to draw the and1 bucket in front of the rim, and had a well-timed baseline cut for the 2-handed dunk midway through the 4Q to maintain the Knights' narrow lead. Love seeing the progression of motor and feel as a cutter/screener that unlocks things in the 2-man game with his guards.

-Franklin has really performed well in a role that he's carved out for himself as a utility wing--especially in this one. Franklin plays great on-ball and help defense, knocks down open shots, and was active on the defensive glass to close out possessions for OC. His stretch in the 4Q with three straight triples off the catch gave the Knights the lead for good. Love his unselfish approach to the game at both ends of the floor as a low maintenance wing prospect.

-Saw some really emphatic athletic flashes throughout the matchup with DM at both ends of the floor. Joanel is a fluid athlete that plays extremely aggressively at the defensive end of the floor. His ability to body up in the post or show on hedges/blitzes unlocks a ton for O'Connell. His best sequence came midway through the 3Q when he pinned a block off the glass, got the rebound, and raced it coast to coast past guards before finishing with the 2-handed dunk over a defender.

-First time seeing Ohri but came away impressed with his fluidity as a forward prospect that small colleges should be all over. Ohri had a nice catch in traffic to score on the short roll with the left off the window, sunk a left handed hook in the paint, and flashed his ability as a passer throughout the game. He's a good passer from the block, off the bounce, and from the high post to serve as an effective connector for this Northwest group. Loved seeing his catch radius in the post, coming up with some tough passes below his waist or above his head to score at the rim.
