Getting to represent the state of Indiana as an Indiana All-Star in the annual series against Kentucky is one of the great honors you can achieve as a high school basketball player here in the state. Each year, 13 of the best seniors are chosen to represent Indiana in the all-star series. Here is an early look at who could realistically make the roster.

Returning Junior All-Stars

It makes the most sense to begin here. Five of the six "Core" Indiana Junior All-Stars will once again be eligible this season. Trent Sisley, and Indiana University signee, is no longer eligible as he transferred from Heritage Hills High School to play his senior season at Montverde Academy. Similarly, five of the six "Red Group" Indiana Junior All-Stars will be up for consideration again. Richmond High School's Cedric Horton, who recently committed to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, transferred to Hargrave Military Academy for his senior season. Finally, of the six "Blue Group" Indiana Junior All-Stars, five will be eligible this season. Belmont bound [player_tooltip player_id='1297042' first='Jack' last='Smiley'] left Valparaiso High School to play his senior season at La Lumiere. So, in total 15 of the 18 Indiana Junior All-Stars will be leading candidates to make the Indiana All-Star. They are listed below in alphabetical order beginning with the "Core" group.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe'] (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1525663' first='Brady' last='Koehler'] (Cathedral H.S. 2025 - Notre Dame)

[player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins'] (Greenfield Central H.S. 2025 - UConn)

[player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson'] (Lawrence North H.S. 2025 - Butler)

[player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2025 - Notre Dame Football)

All five of these guys are essentially "locks" to make the Indiana All-Star team after being named to the "Core" Indiana Junior All-Star team last season. The one possible exception would be Zackery only due to possible spring football commitments at Notre Dame. That would be something to monitor when it comes time to construct the team. Either way, he will deserve recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297093' first='Michael' last='Cooper'] (Jeffersonville H.S. 2025 - Wright State)

[player_tooltip player_id='1297068' first='Julius' last='Gizzi'] (New Palestine H.S. 2025 - Indiana Wesleyan)

[player_tooltip player_id='1525664' first='JonAnthony' last='Hall'] (Fishers H.S. 2025 - Stanford Football)

[player_tooltip player_id='1388408' first='Tre' last='Singleton'] (Jeffersonville H.S. 2025 - Northwestern)

[player_tooltip player_id='1297113' first='Shane' last='Sims'] (Evansville Harrison H.S. 2025)

Of these five guys, it feels like both Jeffersonville products played their way into near "lock" status after their excellent summers. The Red Devils should be one of the best teams in the state this season as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1297068' first='Julius' last='Gizzi'] is in that conversation as well as he should once again be one of the top scorers in the state of Indiana.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297001' first='Chase' last='Barnes'] (Fort Wayne Wayne H.S. 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1297010' first='Damien' last='King'] (Anderson H.S. 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1297002' first='Chase' last='Konieczny'] (South Bend St. Joseph H.S. 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1297020' first='Dominique' last='Murphy Jr'] (East Chicago Central H.S. 2025)

[player_tooltip player_id='1364589' first='Kellen' last='Pickett'] (Blackhawk Christian 2025 - Wright State)

From purely a positional standout, 6'9" forward [player_tooltip player_id='1364589' first='Kellen' last='Pickett'] is most likely to make the Indiana All-Star from this group while the others will battle it out throughout the season.

Other Potential Candidates

Looking solely at the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2025 Prospect Rankings, #10 [player_tooltip player_id='1297069' first='Justin' last='Kirby'] (Fishers H.S. 2025 - Miami OH) and #11 [player_tooltip player_id='1525678' first='Maguire' last='Mitchell'] (Zionsville H.S. 2025 - IU-Indianapolis) are the two highest ranked prospects who didn't earn nods on the Indiana Junior All-Star team. It is certainly possible that Kirby could "take" [player_tooltip player_id='1525664' first='JonAnthony' last='Hall']'s spot as a representative from Fishers this season. Meanwhile, Mitchell will content with teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1525679' first='Drew' last='Snively'] as the duo is one of the best one-two scoring punches in the state.

Central Michigan commits [player_tooltip player_id='1749046' first='Drelyn' last='Truesdale'] (Bishop Luers H.S. 2025) and [player_tooltip player_id='1749047' first='Dereon' last='Truesdale'] (Bishop Luers H.S. 2025) will certainly be in contention this year as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1578451' first='Papi' last='Rivera'] (North Central H.S. 2025) and [player_tooltip player_id='1297024' first='Ethan' last='Edwards'] (Whiteland H.S. 2025 - UIndy) are other stars around the greater Indianapolis area that could play their way onto the team this season.

From a size standpoint, [player_tooltip player_id='1297028' first='Gavin' last='Betten'] (Manchester H.S. 2025 - Grace), [player_tooltip player_id='2053658' first='Bryson' last='Cardinal'] (Guerin Catholic 2025), and [player_tooltip player_id='1297094' first='Michael' last='Wellman'] (Portage H.S. 2025 - Grace) could help bolster the Indiana All-Star team's front court. [player_tooltip player_id='1297066' first='Joshua' last='Renfro'] (Christian Academy 2025 - Marian) and [player_tooltip player_id='1296996' first='Carter' last='Kent'] (Jennings County H.S. 2025 - Bethel) will each certainly have the shooting and scoring numbers to be worthy of consideration as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1747066' first='Josiah' last='Ball'] (Maconaquah H.S. 2025 - Bethel) deserves a mention as well as he averaged over 30 points per game last season and will likely do the same again.

Recap

If we move forward under the assumption that the five returning "Core" Indiana Junior All-Stars will make the team, along with Cooper and Singleton from Jeffersonville, Gizzi from New Palestine, and Pickett from Blackhawk Christian that fills nine of the typical 13 spots. Fishers will be good enough once again this season that it makes sense to pencil in either Hall or Kirby for a spot bringing us to 10 total. Personally, I think [player_tooltip player_id='1525678' first='Maguire' last='Mitchell'] will have a big enough year to put himself on the team as well. That leaves two spots to fill with the names mentioned above and obviously plenty of others.

In order to round out the team let's circle back to those Indiana Junior All-Stars from this season. Due to likely team success this season, [player_tooltip player_id='1297001' first='Chase' last='Barnes'], [player_tooltip player_id='1297002' first='Chase' last='Konieczny'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1297020' first='Dominique' last='Murphy Jr'] are the guys I would highlight as the primary targets for those final two spots. However, as we see every year, anything can happen and there could be names emerge throughout the season that play their way not just into consideration but onto the team entirely.
