This was the first weekend that Champlin Park had just about their full squad, and Kwa led them to a pair of wins against Shakopee and CDH. And these weren't just close wins where the game could've gone either way. These were convincing wins against two of the best teams in Class AAAA. Kwa has that elite level of quickness and burst to get into the lane and make plays, and defenders were forced to play off him a bit to prevent the drive. Silikpoh recognized that and started lighting teams up from beyond the arc, shooting the ball at a level I didn't realize he could. Any time the ball was in Kwa's hands, good things happened for Champlin Park.

Mohamed looks set for a nice senior season at Faribault, and is someone who can come up with plays on both ends of the floor. He excels at getting out in transition where he can see the floor well, able to find a teammate slashing to the rim, or utilize his 6'4 frame to get right to the basket and finish. Does a nice job of getting into the lane and dumping it off to his big. Defensively he offers some versatility with his athleticism at 6'4, as he can defend against forwards or out on the wing.

Kobbe may not have put up the numbers that some of his teammates did, but I like what he brought to the floor for BSM in a win over Orono. He understands his role on this team, and does a nice job of stretching the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat. Kobbe is active off the ball just probing to find space out on the perimeter, and is always ready when the ball comes his way. Adds to a team already filled with length at 6'3 on the wing.

Vincent looks to be back healthy for Edina, and could be in for a breakout sophomore season. In a win over Faribault he started off hot, hitting a mid-range jumper, getting to the free throw line on multiple occasions, and knocking down a three within the first few minutes of play. He's a walking highlight out in transition with his explosive athleticism, but he's starting to become more than just a raw athlete. Vincent impressed with some change of speed on the ball to get past defenders, and is more and more comfortable hitting the outside jumper now. Did a nice job of competing against a 6'9+ big and fighting for position on the block defensively.

I can only speak on the games I watched personally, but based on that Jaleel would be in the conversation for "fall league MVP". Every time I watched BSM play he seemed to produce at a high level, and looks to be much more efficient than in past seasons. Jaleel is starting to simplify his game a bit, and is taking advantage of his strengths. He's so explosive bursting to the rim to finish with the left hand, and against Orono he had a lot of success scoring through contact inside. Once he got going, Donley started to establish his mid-range game, as his shifty handle allows him to create separation and elevate for a jumper. Still has that creative passing ability when attacking off the dribble as well.

Mound-Westonka didn't have any subs on Sunday, but Max still helped lead them to a win over Minneapolis North. He's super versatile at 6'5, as he showed he can break the press off the dribble or with his passing, can defend against smaller guards, and is a capable scorer around the rim or on the perimeter. Opposing forwards had a hard time defending him as he was lighting them up from three, but could then catch with his back-to-the-basket and back them down into deep position before scoring. Dominates the glass and has the poise to make smart decisions while being put under pressure.

Tommy continues to impress me with the growth he's made over the past year. Against Champlin Park he showcased his impressive skillset at 6'10, knocking down a pair of threes, and also converting on some crafty finishes at the rim. Put the ball on the floor and got to the rim for a reverse lay-up, and ran the floor hard rim-to-rim. He moves with good fluidity at 6'10, has a smooth jumper, and works hard when moving his feet against smaller forwards. Tommy is an intriguing prospect who could really take off with a bit of added strength/explosiveness.
