Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 3.

***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***

One of the great parts of hosting the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is getting so much talent from every corner of the state under one roof. It is a great measuring stick for prospects from Gary West Side, like [player_tooltip player_id='2545931' first='Daveon' last='Moore'], to be able to go against peers they have probably never seen before. This 5'10" guard had success in transition where he was comfortable leading the break. He rebounded well from the guard spot and then would get out in the open floor. Made a couple of jump shots in 5-on-5 play as well.

A smooth, left-handed point guard from Center Grove High School, Alvey did some really good things off of the dribble on Sunday. He had a pair of really impressive finishes against size in 5-on-5 play displaying some quickness off of the bounce and creativity at the end of his drives. The Trojans are going through a bit of a reloading process after graduating a lot of seniors. Alvey could be a part of that next wave of young talent to come through the system.

The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase was made for prospects like this Triton Central High School product. There are some of the big names from around the state, the Top 10 or so guys, that we are already familiar with when they show up. However, Calderone was among the standouts from the group that we didn't have previously knowledge of. He used his body very well off of the dribble, scored it in the paint consistently at the end of his drives, and shot it well from three-point range as well. Remember his name in the coming years at Triton Central.

Moore is a physically advanced, put together wing that can really dominate some opponents with his size and strength right now. He has good positional size at 6'2", but it is the length, strength, and athletic traits that really separate him from his peers. The Bishop Luers High School product was excellent in transition scoring off of the throw ahead several times where he could attack in the open floor. There is a lot of upside to his game.

Clark was one of the most impressive prospects at the event on Sunday. He was immediately named a top performer of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and looked like a player that could factor into the equation at Hamilton Southeastern High School sooner rather than later. The smooth, 6'3" guard has impressive positional length and size already to go along with a very skilled perimeter game. He can make tough jump shots, create his own at each level, and displayed good ball handling ability in the open floor.

Cooper stood out as a shooter throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He made a tough stepback three-point shot in 3-on-3 play and then hit another deep on the wing. Later, in 5-on-5 action, the 5'11" guard continued to shoot it well while also making some plays in transition. He also jumped a passing lane showing off some quick defensive instincts. Cooper is an intriguing young player to follow.

We welcomed down several prospects from Fort Wayne and a handful specifically from Bishop Luers High School. His shooting ability stood out the most knocking in multiple catch-and-shoot three-point shots during 5-on-5 play. That skill will certainly translate even better as he grows and gets physically stronger over the years.

Schimmele is clearly a smaller guard right now, but that did not deter him from mixing it up with bigger opponents. He was active with the ball in his hands and on the defensive end of the floor evening hustling after a couple of long offensive rebounds. The physical maturation process will come and his game will be ready to shine.

Another one of the top overall prospects that suited up here for Team 3, Gilbert was also named a top performer at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'5" wing has all of the physical and athletic tools you could ask for in a freshman. Last season, Warren Central High School had a freshman step in and play right away. Gilbert looks like he could potentially do the same. He is a smooth ball handler, has a good looking pull-up game, and can physically compete at the varsity level.

McNiece was one of the more physically impressive big men at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Generally speaking, young big men are either long and lean but very awkward and uncoordinated, or they are a bit overweight and haven't yet grown into their size. However, this 6'6" forward from Homestead High School had a strong, athletic frame at his size. Whether he was putting the ball on the floor to attack, knocking in face-up jump shots, or using his size around the basket, McNiece really stood out throughout our event.
