Now a bit taller since his freshman season, he'll look to step into an expanded role for BSM this winter. He defender the opposing team's biggest scoring threat and was making every shot he took difficult. Good lateral quickness and effort to constantly pressure the ball. Offensively he's able to get into dangerous areas on the floor to create for himself or teammates. He got out in the open floor for three dunks in the game I watched, and was also effective slashing in from the wing in half-court settings. Has the combination of length and athleticism to defend a number of spots. He was relentless on the offensive glass, utilizing his long frame to secure the ball in a crowd, and showed a quick second leap to go right back up for two points. Showed comfort handling the ball in the open floor, and was also a capable floor stretcher. He was feeding his bigs with accurate entry passes, throwing the ball ahead in transition, and had some nice passes after getting into the lane. Quick feet and hands on defense to come up with a couple of steals. Still a bit raw, but was very productive in the paint on both ends of the floor. Could catch with his back to the basket and use his strength to just finish through his defender. On the defensive end he was one of the best shot blockers at the event, moving his feet to get to the right spots to make plays. Does a nice job of not swatting to avoid picking up fouls, while still getting a piece of the ball. He's fast in the open floor, and so shifty with his ability to change directions on the ball. Had success breaking down defenders to get to his mid-range jumper, or could spot up for a three. He was constantly pressuring the ball, including picking up full-court and picking his man's pocket at the half-court line. He has a long and lanky frame at 6', and is a creative ball handler able to blow by his man to get to the rim. I was impressed with how physical he played as well, at times bodying opposing guards around the rim and powering his way up to finish. That level of hustle was exemplified when he chased a man down from a couple yards back in transition, and poked the ball free from behind for a steal. Was very unselfish as he was constantly looking to find his shooters or push the ball ahead in transition.
