East Coast Invitational - Players To Monitor in Pools A/B

With team camp season in full swing in the month of June, one of the most prestigious events is the East Coast Invitational. The four day event brings 36 teams to ENC, with plenty of competition and team bonding awaiting them. It's going to be a camp full of talent and high level bump, so check out players to watch in Pools A and B (as well as our predictions on how teams will end up).   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Pool A Teams (In Order of Predicted Finish)</h3>   New Hanover   Clayton   Swansboro   First Flight   Butler   Goldsboro   South Central   Heide Trask   Pine Forest   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Players to Watch</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2077345' first='Nolan' last='Billings'] - Billings consistently has been scoring the ball at a high clip, and may be asked to exploit mismatches on the wing even more his senior year. As Allen makes plays for him, he'll attack downhill and knock down perimeter jumpers as well.   [player_tooltip player_id='1225663' first='CJ' last='Kornegay'] - Coming off a season ending injury so will be questionable for camp, but a springy, rim-running forward who attacks the glass and scores on the interior well. Good size to play the 3 or 4 at the next level.   [player_tooltip player_id='1907230' first='Aiden' last='Smalls'] - Transfer into Clayton who will play QB and PG for the school. May not be in team camp if he's playing football, but he'll be vital as a ball-handler and distributor this upcoming year.   [player_tooltip player_id='2175517' first='Terrance' last='Badio'] - Rapidly rising guard that is going to play a big part in what Butler does next year. Springy and athletic, primarily an at the rim guy who's not afraid of contact or taking it there every time. Getting better from deep and that will turn him into an all-conference player.   [player_tooltip player_id='1220133' first='Mason' last='Dobie'] - Dobie has gotten extensive run with Team Push on the Adidas circuit, showing he can compete and keep shooting the lights out at the highest level. Should be a scholarship guy with his flamethrowing ability.   [player_tooltip player_id='1220128' first='Isaiah' last='Godley'] - Going to be the guy for South Central next year, very long and plays hard as heck on both ends. Tough defender because of that intensity and length, swallows up opposing ball-handlers. Athletic finisher and mid-range jump shooter too.   [player_tooltip player_id='1990377' first='Tay' last='Tangiora'] - Interior presence who continues to get more physical and stronger as he approaches his senior year. Strong rebounder and rim protector on the defensive end. Surprising ball skills and good touch offensively.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Pool B Teams (In Order of Predicted Finish)</h3>   South Meck   West Caldwell   Kinston   Farmville Central   Harrells Christian   North Stanly   New Bern   Northside   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Players to Watch</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2055671' first='Ben' last='Houpt'] - Houpt continues to turn in consistent performances and might be the lead guy for South Meck, or at least top two. Multi level scorer who has a nice jumper and really looks to bomb threes away. Decent point guard, but more of a combo.   [player_tooltip player_id='2055664' first='Jim' last='Gatehouse'] - The other man for South Meck, a wing/2 guard hybrid that has length and is another guy who can score at multiple levels. Comfortable getting to the rim and finishing against bigger defenders. Great feel and IQ for the action.   [player_tooltip player_id='1220126' first='DaShaun' last='McKoy'] - Explosive athlete who has been dominant so far for CP3 EYCL, and he and his brother will continue to dominant SE NC. Gets to the rim at will and does a lot of winning things on both ends that just make his team better, even if he doesn't necessarily padd the stat sheet every night.   [player_tooltip player_id='1280878' first='Antonio' last='McKoy'] - Very similar player to his brother, going to always have a big two way presence on the floor. Has been excelling for [program_tooltip program_id='2078552' first='WBC' last='Elite'] and will look to bring two layers of dynamic scoring to HCA this summer.   [player_tooltip player_id='1707110' first='MJ' last='Williams'] - Lefty PG who is continuing to improve by the month. Love his ability to both probe the defense and shoot the deep ball as well. Pretty good distributor who gets his teammates involved and isn't afraid to throw the tough pass.   [player_tooltip player_id='1774477' first='Zion' last='Thomas'] - Very small, dynamic guy with his speed and agility. Pass-first point guard who constantly looks to swing it and find an open man. Likes to attack in transition consistently and put the defense on the back foot.   [player_tooltip player_id='1220088' first='Jussan' last='Wiggins'] - Football first guy, but would be expected to be the biggest contributor for New Bern in his senior season. Combo guard who gets downhill, also rebounds the ball very well. Athletic with some vertical pop.
